Near gheecorn headquarters!!

The Martin Mars was dispatched to the wildfire near Lake Cowichan. Here's a photo of it hard at work already!

The fire is believed to be human-caused and is under investigation. The fire is burning on private forested land in slash (felled and bucked timber).

As you may have noticed we have temporarily changed our red bags to a thicker non biodegradable bag. Being committed to reducing our waste and impact to the environment, we've found a facility that will take these foil bags and any material like this and burn it to create energy. Unfortunately, foil bags at this time are not recyclable and can only be incinerated, which I think is better then allowing them in the landfill.

The facility is mobile and has drop off locations in Victoria on certain days. You can recycle and drop off all plastics, electronics, wire, styrofoam, etc. for a small fee. I've attached the web page to provide further details

We should have the biodegradable bags back with in two months.
