Shoreline Reclamation
If you didn’t know, one of our specialties is building sea walls to reclaim and protect coastal land.
This particular project was a true test of skill. Creating a boulder wall of this scale requires a massive amount of patience and a “finesse” touch with our Liebherr. The logistics were a puzzle in themselves; since we were working off a cliffside, everything moved by water. Every yard of soil we took out and every boulder we brought in happened via barge.
Beyond the aesthetics, safety was a huge priority. What started as a messy, sliding cliff of falling trees and loose soil is now a stable, and secured by an engineered wall. By locking down the shoreline, we’ve made the public beach below much safer for the community.
Seeing it finished, it’s more than just a retaining wall—it’s a piece of functional art that will stand the test of time, & and age like fine wine over time.
