I was in e drug store yesterday & saw a really cool feeing figet toy which was full of heavy sand and so squishy it satisfied my need for dopamine or as I like to say it gives me my dopamine fix.
The unfortunate part is it was a bright orange dog about the size of your average palm.
So when you squished the sand his eyes would bludge out. This kind of freaked me out but I decided I needed it and off to cash out I went.
Turns out no price tag so this kind worker went in search for the right answer & returned with the same fidget toy but In a proper box with aa price on it.
A line formed impatiently behind me…the kind worker as she was coming from the back of the line, holds the bright orange toy in the air high above her head & announces “I found it !!! Who’s this little guy going to your son ?”.
I froze not knowing what to say.
My mind raced and I felt absolute anxiety & seconds felt like hours. I nodded in embarrassment.
I left the store with my goods including my ADHD fidget toy. I feel it was better to answer the way I did than explain my mental health to a line of busy people & a staff member.
It was like buying your first pl***oy mag as a young adult back in the day.
The person serving you always seemed to have to call over the store loud speaker for a price check LOL
I’ve never had a staff member say “who’s this for” yelling it at a distance.
I’m not mad at her just curious as to the question.
If you’re wondering WTH I am speaking about google “Adult ADHD fidget toys” & “Adult ADHD”
