“If he’s snoring loudly he’s in a deep sleep.”
This is one of the most dangerous myths I hear as a myofunctional therapist. 😮💨
And I understand why parents believe it.
It sounds logical.
It feels reassuring.
It lets everyone sleep at night.
But here’s the truth.
Loud snoring means your child’s airway is partially collapsing while they sleep.
Their brain is working overtime just to keep them breathing.
That is not deep sleep.
That is struggle.
And every single night it goes unaddressed — their jaw, their face, their focus, their development — quietly pay the price.
This is not your fault.
Nobody told you to look here.
But now you know. 💛
If your child snores — even occasionally — this is worth looking into sooner rather than later.
