Help children navigate loss by keeping the memory of their loved ones alive.

These supportive phrases from The Children's Grief Foundation of Canada offer gentle ways to encourage children to open up, share a laugh, or express their feelings in a way that feels natural to them.

At our Youth Grief Retreat (ages 13-18), the art therapy sessions aren't about the final masterpiece - They are about the moment. Guided by professional art therapists, these activities are designed to help connect the mind and body, providing you with practical coping skills for emotional regulation that you can take home with you. No art experience required.

Create in whatever way feels right for you:

To Remember: Create a piece that reflects the vibrant life and legacy of your loved one.

To Release: Use colours and textures to express what your grief feels like when words fall short.

To Simply Be: Sometimes, it’s just about the joy of trying something new, making a mess, and participating in a fun activity, even if you think you aren't good at it!

Our Youth Grief Retreat (ages 13–18) offers a chance to connect, reflect, and spend time surrounded by nature and supportive peers who just GET IT! Held at Circle Square Ranch Snider Mountain, youth will take part in meaningful therapeutic activities alongside fun recreation.

It’s a space to breathe, to share, and to remember that even in loss, there can still be moments of light.

"Showing real feelings doesn’t burden children; It teaches them that it’s okay to express their own. Crying, naming emotions, and sharing sadness all model healthy coping. Kids don’t need perfection; they need honesty and connection." - The Children's Grief Foundation of Canada

A reminder that our words matter. Grieving people often need someone to listen, rather than someone to compare or try to say they understand. Offering a listening ear can make a huge difference ❤️
