We are sharing news from our partners on the local Age-Friendly steering committees in Elgin-St. Thomas and Oxford County!
Ontario has recognized this region as age-friendly, celebrating local contributions to more inclusive physical and social environments for aging adults. We join nearly 70 communities being recognized this year in Ontario, and a growing number of communities that have achieved this designation globally.
Every resident deserves the opportunity to age safely and with dignity while engaged in community life, which is why age-friendly initiatives are woven into the fabric of our communities through local planning.
We are honoured to work in partnership on this steering committee alongside local older adults, community organizations, and representatives from Elgin County, Oxford County, and the City of St. Thomas.
