Movement has always been my medicine. With a background in modern dance, therapeutic movement, yoga, and nearly a decade in holistic health, I guide practices that reconnect you with your body, release tension, and cultivate vitality.

🌟 Meet Ishwarya Chaitanya: Your Yoga Teacher for the Spring Retreat 🌟

Ishwarya Chaitanya boasts extensive expertise in yoga, beginning her training in Hatha Yoga under her father, Sri Prameya Chaitanya. She holds a BSc. in Environmental Science from the University of British Columbia and pursued her passion for Bharatanatyam and yoga in India.

With a post-graduate diploma in Yoga Therapy from S-VYASA University, Ishwarya has trained under Sri H.S. Arun for over a decade. She completed her Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training at Tattva Yogashala and has taught numerous classes for companies like Toyota and Flipkart. Currently, she teaches at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga and leads retreats in Rishikesh.

In addition to yoga, Ishwarya is a professional Bharatanatyam artist, having performed widely in India and completed her Master’s under Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam.

🌙✨ As we move toward the winter solstice, let’s honor the natural rhythm of the season by finding stillness and turning inward. The cold, quiet days invite us to slow down, reflect, and rest—just as nature does around us. ❄️🌲

One beautiful way to connect with this deepening stillness is through Child’s Pose (Balasana). 🌸 This restorative pose encourages surrender, peace, and self-compassion, helping us to listen to the wisdom within. It’s a gentle reminder to pause and nurture ourselves during this time of inner reflection.

As we transition into winter, let’s embrace this sacred time to go inward—to reflect on what has served us this year, and what we want to leave behind. The winter solstice on December 21st is a powerful moment to set intentions for the months ahead, rooted in calmness and clarity.
