Marcela believes when people feel genuinely heard and validated — and are given the language to make sense of what they’re experiencing — their healing journey can truly begin. Shame and judgment are powerful forces that often hold individuals back, and understanding where these feelings come from and how they shape their responses is an important step toward reclaiming control of their healing.

Grounding practices can look so simple — almost too simple. But the truth is, the things that help us settle our nervous system are often the small, repeatable habits we build over time. With practice, they become powerful tools we can lean on when life feels overwhelming.

Grounding won’t eliminate stress or overwhelm completely, but with repetition, these practices strengthen your ability to regulate, reconnect, and feel more in control. Small steps, practiced often, genuinely make a difference. 🌱

Silence can deepen suffering. When experiences are tucked away, unnamed, or wrapped in shame, they can start to feel heavier than they truly are. Shame grows in the dark.

But something shifts the moment a story is spoken aloud in a space of safety and non-judgment. When we give language to what feels unspeakable, we loosen shame’s grip. We make room for compassion, connection, and relief.

Being witnessed with care can transform what once felt isolating into something shared and survivable.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
Your voice matters.
Your story belongs in the light.

On Remembrance Day, we honour those who have served and sacrificed — and we also acknowledge the lasting impacts of war and conflict on mental health.

As a counselling community, we hold space for veterans, service members, families, and all those carrying the emotional weight of remembrance. Healing often begins with being seen, heard, and supported — and that’s something we can all offer.

As we remember the past, we also acknowledge the pain of ongoing conflicts around the world — and the deep impact they have on individuals, families, and communities. Our hearts are with those who continue to experience displacement, fear, and loss. Palestine. Sudan. Ukraine. And more.

Remembering, reflecting, and refusing to look away.

Sarrah believes that meaningful change and healing happen when people feel truly seen, accepted, and safe. When individuals are met with genuine empathy and understanding—free from judgment—they are more able to explore their emotions, share their stories, and connect with their inner resilience. She strives to create a therapeutic environment grounded in warmth, authenticity, and safety, where people can show up as they are and begin to uncover new possibilities for growth and healing.

We believe peoples’ stories are sacred and that there is power in how we tell our stories.

We are deeply inspired by Indigenous ways of knowing, where storytelling is a practice of connection, resilience, and community. Through listening, witnessing, and sharing, stories guide healing and help us honor the fullness of human experience.

In counselling, we hold space for your story—its truths, its lessons, and its wisdom—because how we tell our stories can transform how we live them.

Trauma and other difficult life experiences can leave us feeling broken or damaged. Believing we are fundamentally broken can make us feel as if change, healing, and growth aren’t possible. If you’re struggling, you’re not broken, but you may be deeply hurting. There’s a big difference. Even in the hurt, even when we feel broken beyond repair, we are so very good and so very worthy. We are, in other words, “full of light nonetheless.”

We asked Martha, what do you believe helps people to make changes or heal?

“So often, the more we’re struggling, the more we focus on all the ways we should be coping better, should be more this way or less that way—and these beliefs can keep us stuck instead of helping us move forward. I believe real change begins when we’re offered empathy and curiosity instead of judgment. When we feel seen, when our stories are heard, and when we are reminded of our strengths—even (and especially) in our hardest moments—we can begin to reconnect with ourselves. From this place, healing can happen. It’s not about fixing what’s broken, it’s about softening around what hurts, and remembering what is still whole.”

Our values are at the core of what we do.

We lead with empathy, taking the time to truly understand your perspective and lived experience — because we believe meaningful healing can only happen when you feel deeply seen and understood.

We honour your autonomy, trusting that you are the expert in your own life.

We believe in collaboration, walking alongside you rather than making decisions for you.

And at every step, we commit to anti-oppressive practice, actively working to create a space that is safe, equitable, and mindful of power.

✨ Introducing our new logo ✨

This design beautifully reflects who we are at our core — rooted, intentional, and grounded. “The logo also reflects our belief that healing is a natural, dynamic process. The branching shapes and layered colours symbolize growth, renewal, and the different paths people move through over time. We often look to nature as a reminder that change can be slow, nonlinear, and still deeply meaningful — and that people are inherently capable of adaptation and growth.

We’re so excited to step into this next chapter with a visual identity that feels deeply aligned with our values. 🌿

👏🏻 A big thanks to the folks at for bringing this logo to life!
