I’m so excited to share some wonderful news for women in our province!

With an increasing demand for specialized women’s mental health support, especially for women in rural areas of SK, our practice is growing! We are incredibly grateful to be welcoming Alison Kawa to the team this April.

Alison is a thoughtful, compassionate, and highly skilled clinician who brings both warmth and depth to her work with women. From the moment we connected, it was clear that she is the kind of therapist who creates a space where women feel truly seen, understood, and supported. She is someone who deeply values authenticity and connection, and I feel so fortunate to have such a strong clinician—and genuinely wonderful human—joining the practice.

Alison is passionate about helping women reconnect with their identity, regulate their nervous systems, and step more fully into their authentic selves. Her work focuses on supporting women who are navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, questions of purpose, midlife transitions, and the journey of growing self-worth.

As our practice continues to expand our virtual therapy options for women across Saskatchewan, Alison will play an important role in helping us reach more women who are looking for specialized support in women’s mental health.

Her schedule will be opening soon, so keep an eye out for upcoming posts with more details about how to book.

Alison will officially begin seeing clients on April 1st, and I can’t wait for you to meet her.

The Two Week Wait can feel like an emotional rollercoaster that goes up and down between Hopefulness and Hopelessness.

Hope. Fear. Googling every twinge. Overanalyzing every symptom. Trying not to overthink… but totally overthinking.

If you’re in this space, please know: your feelings are valid. You are doing the best you can and there is not perfect way to manage this time.

** Your overall ability to manage this time will not impact your ability to become pregnant or not!

The waiting can feel heavier than the treatment itself. It’s okay to feel hopeful and scared. Both can exist at the same time.

Here are a few ways to support yourself during the wait:

🌸 Mental strategies
• Set aside specific and intentional time to worry - give yourself 10–15 minutes to journal or spiral, then gently shift focus and use distraction.
• Create a short mantra: “Today, I am the best that I can to take care of myself” or “I can handle whatever news comes.”
• Limit symptom searching — your nervous system deserves a break an Google is not your friend right now.

🌸 Somatic support / ways to calm your nervous system:
• Slow, deep belly breathing (inhale 4, exhale 6)
• Gentle walks to discharge anxious energy
• Warm baths, grounding touch, or hand on heart moments to calm your body

And most importantly: stay hopeful, but hold yourself with compassion for either outcome. Hope doesn’t cause heartbreak — attachment without support does. Prepare your support system now, whether that’s celebrating or grieving.

You don’t have to walk the Two Week Wait alone.
