I really do believe that our healthiest body comes with ease and not endless stress.

If you’ve had thoughts this week that you need to change your body and/or restrict your food intake to live in your healthiest body, let me remind you that you don’t have to do those things.

Maybe you could start by asking yourself, “what does my body need?”, as nobody but yourself knows what it is like to live in your individual body.

Does your body need you to prioritize rest and sleep this week?
Does your body need some type of movement?
Have you drank water yet today?
Have you gone outside in the sunshine?
Maybe an evening walk, dinner, facetime, or phone call with a loved one is what you need?
Does your body need a home cooked meal?
Maybe your body just wants you to slow down and quit constantly rushing?

Get curious, and do the things that you think could contribute to making you feel your best and especially do the things you know make you feel your best. As these are the things that will contribute to the healthiest you. No one knows your body like you do. If you feel confused as to how to start listening and understanding your own body, just send me a DM as I am always here to support you.

With summer approaching comes the messages telling us that there is something wrong with our current body. So let this be your reminder that your body is enough just as it is. There is no such thing as a “summer body” or “beach body”.

And weeks, months, and years down the road, you won’t be remembering how you looked but recalling the moments of joy and the memories you made with those around you.

In a world that tells us daily there is something wrong with our body, let this be your reminder that there is absolutely nothing wrong with your body.

There is more to life than constantly chasing a smaller body and/or different body than the one you currently live in.

As always, I’m just a dm away if you ever want to discuss anything body image, or intuitive eating. ☺️

Don’t get me wrong, I still find things I don’t like about my body or see photos of myself and think “that’s how I look?” Or have days where I can’t seem to find any clothes that I like the way they look on my body.

But in the end it comes down to me remembering all the ways my body has showed up for me and continues to show up me.

And that, I wasn’t born disliking my body, I learned that there was something wrong with my body and how to dislike it.

For awhile now I’ve been learning to no longer let these thoughts stop me from living and experiencing life, because at the end of the day all we have is this one big beautiful life. And I really don’t want to look back one day and realize I was so focused on changing my body and disliking my body that I never truly lived.

If you do one thing today, thank your body for allowing you to live life. And if you’re wondering how to begin the journey of learning to not dislike your body, send me a DM. I’m always here to chat ☺️

Fitness and regular movement can be fun and enjoyable. In the last few weeks my main forms of movement have been walking and stretching, with the odd hike and a bike ride.

I once would have been so worried about being away from my regular workout routine but currently I have no concerns because I’ve gotten to a place where I realize all movement counts and it doesn’t have to always be a workout in a physical gym. It’s doing what feels good and is accessible to me at the time.

I’m always here to chat if you’re curious how you can learn to appreciate your body and use fitness/movement as a tool to care for your body rather than simply to change the way your body looks.

In a world that seems to tell us we should either hate or love our body.

I want to remind you that you do not have to love everything about your body but you should not hate it either.

The next time you see your reflection, a photo of yourself or look in the mirror. Rather than listing all the things you think need to change about your body, try acknowledging something about your body that you are grateful for.

And if that seems impossible, what if you just thanked your body for showing up for you each and everyday. The human body is an amazing thing, and often we forget that our body is constantly showing up for us day in and day out.

I am always here to chat if you ever want to discuss anything body image. 😊

✨I have gone from using exercise to punish myself to using exercise to care for myself.

I used to workout to change my appearance but now I do it to take care of myself. To feel good overall, as a tool to support my anxiety, to energize me for the day, to get stronger, to improve my cardiovascular health, to contribute to better sleep, and well because I have fun when I am moving my body. If you are tired of the type of exercise/movement you are doing, try something new. The human body is meant to move, finding ways to exercise/move that you enjoy I think is key in order to make it a consistent habit.

Amongst all the toxic fitness advice that is often filled with guilt and shame when it comes to exercise/movement. I want to remind you that there is another way. You can enjoy regular exercise/movement, and you can make it be part of your life, your life does not need to be solely about the exercise/movement you do.

If you are looking to build a new habit when it comes to exercise/movement and do not know where to begin, send me a DM, as I would love to assist you in discovering how exercise/movement can fit into your life. What works for me will not necessarily work for you and vice versa, but just believe me when I say you do not have to spend your life guilting and shaming yourself into engaging in exercise/movement. There is a way to enjoy exercise/movement and use it as a form of caring for yourself.

Here’s the thing, it didn’t just happen overnight that I learned to be okay with my appearance. And before you think I love my body 24/7, I don’t. But I’m finally in a place where I’ve come to appreciate it for everything it does and I truly care for it. This body has been there for me during some of the most challenging circumstances of my life.

My body has never been the problem, it’s been the thoughts and learned beliefs that held me back from being content with my body. Of course I still have challenging body image days but the difference now is that I don’t let it ruin my day. Here is your reminder that YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR BODY.

If you ever want to talk about anything related to body image or how to begin accepting your own body, just send me a DM. I’m always here to listen and chat! ☺️
