At long last, I am happy to say that this is in the creation stages — A Scheduled Cesarean Prenatal Class!

With my 10+ years experience working as a labour, delivery and postpartum nurse and lactation consultant I’m creating it from scratch with direct feedback from parents who have birthed a baby(ies) by cesarean section, regardless if it was planned or unplanned. Along with input from local healthcare providers caring for families prenatally, through the cesarean birth itself and the postpartum period.

You, as expecting parents will leave knowing:
* How to best prepare yourselves
* What to pack in your hospital bag
* What you can expect inside the operating room
* Possible interventions that you may encounter
* Your options throughout the process of giving birth
* What you might encounter with breastfeeding and milk supply and how to overcome those possible challenges
* How to prepare your home for the postpartum period
* Helpful community resources to support your healing and recovery postpartum

I’m always, always open to feedback from the lived experiences of parents, so if you have given birth by cesarean and there are things you wish someone would have shared with you prior, specific products or community supports, please do not hesitate to send those along to me by direct message here or via email at rosalyn@birthblessings.ca

A milestone that is so much more than just the number shown. ‘🥹

It is the number of families that have awareness of the options available to them, not just those that are offered. Families that feel empowered to ask questions and make decisions with confidence, rather than have their providers make the decisions for them. Families that have an understanding of what to expect and how to set themselves up for success in their individual feeding goals and enter postpartum with plans and systems in place to support their physical, mental and emotional selves, rather than leave it up to luck.

It is also the number of partners that are aware of how their partner desires to be supported and of their immensely important role(s) in the birth and postpartum space.

Within months of my career as a Registered Nurse on Labour and Delivery, I witnessed countless families leaving the hospital with an experience far from what they imagined it would be and it was from that space that Birth Blessings was created and that this ever became possible.

A milestone that would be non-existent if it weren’t for each and every family that has invested in preparing for their journey into parenthood and joined me for a class(es) — I truly could never thank you enough. ‘🩶

I always have and always will take immense pride in the honour of meeting expecting parents where they are at and supporting them in this monumental life chapter. ‘🥰

The sale will run for this first week of July, ending at 11:59p on July 8th on a first come, first serve basis! ‘✨

While the first half of 2024 will be hard to top, I’ve got some exciting things in the works for classes so stay tuned!! ‘🌻

Feeding a baby is not the only way through which we can foster connection and provide physical and emotional nourishment.

Just like any relationship, bonds between babies and their parents/caregivers are created through closeness, touch, words, quality time, being a safe resting place and being actively involved and present.

The journey of bringing home the tiny human that you spent the last nine months growing is filled with whirlwinds of emotions as you adjust to this new chapter in your life — simultaneous amazement and exhaustion, joy and overwhelm, love and grief.

While we never quite know what exactly this new chapter will look like until we’re in the thick of it, these five things can help to ease the transition and to support you in achieving our individual feeding goals, whatever they might be.

Take it one day, one feed and one nap at a time while leaning on your support system and trusting your instincts to reach out for expert feeding support should you need it.

Feeling entirely unsure of where to start in preparation of your little one’s arrival?!

Comment “GUIDE” and we’ll send you our free Chest/Breastfeeding Survival Guide for the first two weeks!! ‘📚👶🏻

The number one concern I hear from expecting parents and families when it comes to exclusively chest/breastfeeding.

I hope this post can bring you peace of mind in this moment.

I hope this can renew your trust in your baby, in yourself and in your body.

And if your baby is not meeting one of these or maybe, they are meeting all of these “things” but something still feels off..

Mama, trust your gut and reach out for support.

You’re not alone in this journey! ‘♡
