The Police Officer Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) is one of the first steps of the recruiting process to become a police officer in Prince Albert.
The Prince Albert Police Service recruiting team is currently planning a POPAT info night where individuals can familiarize themselves with the different aspects of the test and ask any questions they may have to our recruiting team.
The POPAT simulates and measures an officer's physical ability to respond to critical incidents and apprehend suspects. The test is made up of four stations, a 400 metre mobility/agility run, a push/pull station, a modified squat thrust & stand using a rail vault, and a 100 pound bag carry.
To pass, an applicant must complete the first three stations in 4 minutes and 45 seconds or less. Within 30 seconds of completing the third station, the applicant will move directly to the torso bag carry for a distance of 50 feet.
