I have been with Child Care Algoma since August 2010. Before that I worked at the Sault college Child Development Centre as their cook for 12 years. During that time I have taken part in a lot of the children’s daily activities. I have also taught Sunday school for 10 years, with that I have had to plan curriculum's for each week. I decided to become a Home Care Provider because I believe that a child in home care gets a little more one on one attention which helps their growth and development. At Speckled Frogs Day Care they are welcomed by a calm and relaxing atmosphere, large playroom, art area, a large backyard with lots of toys, also we have a forest we walk through to see the seasons change. Here your child will follow a daily routine that consist of art, free play, group time, rest time, outdoor play, snack and lunch time, and the occasional field trip. We have a different theme each week, which helps them learn about a specific topic, we do everything from colours to artic animals. I change the toys around so that your child can learn and grow with the challenges of finding out how a new toy works. I encourage the children to use their imagination and to do simple problem solving.

well we are into November. i am hoping to be able to get outside even if it is to go for a walk, please make sure your child had the appropriate outer wear, and let hope that mother nature will be kind one day and not rain.
