Today, on World Cancer Day, the Terry Fox Foundation hosted a webinar to provide an update on their projects and research.
One statistic that really jumped out: 250,000 Canadians will hear the words “you have cancer” this year. That’s why the work being done matters so deeply.

Through the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network, the Foundation is uniting cancer centres across Canada—at the request of hospitals and research institutions—to close the gap between clinical research and patient care. By sharing results, data, and best practices, this network is improving access to targeted treatments and ensuring better outcomes for Canadians, including those in underrepresented and rural communities like the Pontiac.

On This Day - September 1, 1980 Terry Fox ended the Marathon of Hope near Thunder Bay after cancer spread to his lungs
He ran a toral of 143 days and 3339 miles
Come out on September 14 and help us carry on his legacy

"If I don't make it... the Marathon of Hope must continue"

45 years ago today Terry Fox was forced to end his Marathon of Hope just East of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Since then - close to a billion dollars have been fundraised on his behalf for cancer research.
