Stress lives in the body, not just the thoughts.
And sometimes what we need is a pause long enough for the body to catch up.

Here are a few ways to weave breathing and presence into your busy day:

➡️When stopped at a red light, unclench your jaw and drop your shoulders. Inhale…exhale…

➡️Before replying to an email or text that activates you, pause for one full inhale and slow exhale.

➡️While washing your hands, feel the temperature of the water and take one steady breath.

➡️When you get into bed, place one hand on your chest and one on your stomach and breathe until your exhale naturally slows.

Try lengthening your exhale. 🫁
Notice what shifts.

Nervous system facts for this stormy winter day ❄️🧠

The vagus nerve plays a key role in how your body experiences safety and stress. It’s part of your nervous system’s built-in regulation system, constantly responding to what’s happening around you and within you.

When stress or overwhelm builds, vagal activity can decrease. This is your nervous system adapting to what it PERCEIVES as too much.

The good news? The vagus nerve is responsive. With gentle, consistent nervous system support, it can be re-engaged over time.🤍
