Today, we honor National Truth and Reconciliation Day. We remember the lives impacted by residential schools and reflect on the ongoing journey toward healing, understanding, and justice.

We commit to listening, learning, and taking action to support Indigenous communities.

In times of chaos it can be hard to identify the things that you CAN actually control.

Focus on what you can shape, and let the rest fall where it may. Control what’s yours, release what isn’t, and breathe through the chaos.

Therapy isn’t a quick fix. It’s a process and consistency is what makes that process powerful.

Here’s why showing up regularly matters:

Safety & trust - Regular sessions create a stable relationship where you can feel supported and understood.

Momentum - Each session builds on the last, keeping progress moving forward instead of starting over.

Accountability - Consistency reinforces your commitment to yourself and your growth.

Emotional regulation - Having a reliable space to process emotions helps reduce overwhelm.

When you keep showing up, even on the hard days, that’s where the real growth happens.

Teaching is rewarding but it can also be emotionally and mentally demanding. Setting clear boundaries helps you stay effective, present, and healthy.

Examples of boundaries for educators:
- Keeping work hours consistent
- Saying no to extra tasks that overwhelm your schedule
- Communicating expectations clearly with students and parents
- Taking time for self-care without guilt
- Separating personal and professional social media

Boundaries aren’t walls, they’re tools for sustainability and balance. Protecting your energy helps you give your best to your students!

Communication isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Sometimes we text when a phone call would show more care.
Sometimes we vent when what we really need is to listen.
Sometimes we speak when silence could hold more meaning.

Healthy communication means choosing the form that fits the moment:
-Text for quick updates
-Calls for clarity
-Face-to-face for connection
- Writing for reflection
- Silence for presence

Which form of communication helps you feel most seen?

Let’s Talk Codependency

Codependency isn’t just “caring too much.” It’s when your sense of worth becomes tied to someone else’s approval, mood, or choices.

Signs of codependency may include:
- Difficulty saying no
- Feeling responsible for others’ happiness
- Putting your needs last
- Fear of conflict or abandonment
- Defining yourself through the relationship

Remember: Love doesn’t mean losing yourself. Healthy relationships include mutual respect, independence, and boundaries.

Some people, thoughts, or situations can weigh you down or drain your energy.

Just like you wouldn’t keep a rotten apple in your basket, you don’t have to hold on to negativity.

- Protect your energy.
- Let go of what doesn’t serve you.
- Make space for the people, experiences, and thoughts that nourish you.

Your basket is yours — fill it wisely.

The way we cheer, encourage, and handle conflict as kids often mirrors what we see at home. As we enter a another sport season, this is friendly reminder that sportsmanship starts at home!

Teaching respect, kindness, and humility at home lays the foundation for good sportsmanship on the field, and in life.

- Model grace in wins and losses
- Encourage effort over perfection
- Show empathy and teamwork in everyday moments

Great athletes aren’t just made in gyms or on fields, they’re nurtured by the values we practice at home.
