🥳 Union Osteopathy turns 5 🥳

It’s hard to believe we’ve been business owners for half of a decade!!!!!

A worldwide pandemic, an expansion to build our new clinic and gym space, 1000 different clients, collaborating with likeminded practitioners, networking through events and volunteer opportunities and so so much more has gone into building our business over the last 5 years.

We couldn’t have possibly done it all without the support from our amazing community, and can’t wait to see what the coming years will bring!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Just a few short weeks after last years Run for the Cure, my mom lost her hard fought battle to breast cancer. It’s hard to imagine it’s almost been a year without her, and participating in this years event in her memory as opposed to by her side will be another adjustment in what has been a year full of “firsts”.

We’ve been blown away by the amount of kindness and support we’ve received while navigating these past 12 months and hope to continue raising funds and awareness to such an important cause. This year has proved to be even more difficult than the last few. The previous challenges of appointments, procedures and hospital visits have now been replaced with the adjustment and emotions of navigating life without my mom.

We are very thankful to the incredible team at the cancer clinic for all their support throughout her hard fought battle, and now more than ever hope to continue to raise funds and awareness to a cause that is so close to our hearts đź’—

If you’re able to donate, no amount is too little and would be so greatly appreciated! If you’d like to join us on that day or participate in your local run/walk we would be so happy to have your support.

International Women’s Day 🤍

A day to celebrate and commemorate all the amazing and inspiring women in our lives. To raise awareness of the progress made towards achieving gender equality and the work remaining to be done. Of all the incredible and inspiring female entrepreneurs I have been lucky to know and work alongside, there is one who will always stand out as my biggest role model, my mom.

In 1988 at 26 years old my mom opened her own business, Contemporary Florist. She single handedly operated the flower shop for 35 years, until losing a hard fought battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in October. Anyone who knew her would agree with me in saying she was a nothing short of a force. She was extremely independent, she radiated confidence and positivity in everything she did, she was very stubborn - a characteristic that in her case meant she never stepped down from a challenge. She had an astounding amount of grit and determination, traits that not only helped her through the hardship of owning a small business but also helped her handle an impossible diagnosis with an admirable amount of grace.

My mom was a role model for so many. Teaching young female athletes to chant “YES I CAN” when they were caught doubting themselves in the middle of a volleyball match, building confidence in her employees by helping them believe they were deserving of their hard earned roles. She paved the way for gender equality from an early age (especially when it came to sport) and refused to take no for an answer - even if it meant playing hockey on the boys team. She pushed the limits wherever possible and will be a constant reminder that you can achieve anything you want if you set your mind to it. She was the female role model that every little girl deserves to have in their lives and I was lucky enough to call her mom.

International Women’s Day looks a lot different this year without my biggest supporter and role model, but her legacy will continue to inspire so many and forge the way for women to come.
