Delighted to have been invited to speak at this weekends NL Cancer Conference for Women 🙌

We are thrilled to have Dr. Jennifer Spracklin join us at the 2023 NL Cancer Conference for Women on Saturday to discuss s*xuality and cancer. Cancer patients have identified s*xuality as a major issue post-diagnosis, so Dr. Spracklin will offer her expertise in this area.

A very important reminder about the value of comprehensive s*x positive s*x ed for all 🙂
Many of the heteros*xual couples I have worked with over the years are left feeling like something is wrong with her, she takes too long ; or the flip, something wrong with him, he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Neither individual is the problem, the way we learn about s*x is the problem. We are socialized to place penetrative pe**le vaginal s*x at the top of the list and when that’s not meeting our expectations for quality of enjoyment and pleasure we don’t realize that WE are not the problem. We, of course, think we’re doing everything right and our bodies are broken.
The great news is - it’s never too late to learn!!

Cynthia Albritton wasn't just any rock and roll groupie.

She has been making molds of the pen*ses of some of the most famous rock stars on Earth since the late 1960s.

Rightfully nicknamed Cynthia Plaster Caster, she got stars like Jimi Hendrix to drop their drawers and dip their pen*ses into a martini shaker filled with dental-mold gel. Her work has been popular for decades and has been exhibited as recently as 2017.

The beauty industry never fails to surprise me with their level of ridiculousness. This is an odd campaign for sure — but if your eye makeup is better than your s*x life, it might be time to book an appointment with your friendly neighbourhood S*xologist !

Beyond excited to start teaching this COMPREHENSIVE curriculum next month!!

It’s so rare to find curriculums that actually meet the criteria and guidelines of SIECCAN (S*x Information and Education Council of Canada) and PHAC (Public Health Agency of Canada)which include comprehensive s*x ed through a s*x positive lens (amongst many other criteria of course!). And it is even more rare to find such a curriculum that is modified for individuals who process and learn in different ways.

THIS ONE HAS IT ALL!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Check it out!! And if you know anyone 19 years and older who is on the spectrum - let them know of this opportunity, please!!

We're so excited to tell you about a new offering we have here in St. John's in partnership with Autism Nova Scotia. It's all about health relationships and s*xuality. This program will run once a week for 13 weeks beginning on November 12th, on Tuesdays from 6-8PM. This program is for individuals age 19+.

As this is a first for us we will be offering the program at our headquarters in St.John's to start. Once we iron out the details and get to know the program a little better we hope to offer it in other areas of the province.

If you have any questions or you would like to register get in touch with Jennifer Spracklin at jspracklin@autism.nf.net. Jennifer is a clinical s*xologist who also has professional experience in autism; she welcomes all of your questions!

*This program is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada*

Individuals with delays, disabilities and/or differences are often viewed as as*xual. This can be a harmful perspective that sometimes leaves them excluded from s*xual health education.

Happy to be invited to speak about Autism and S*xuality at today’s conference in St. John’s !

Cheers to the weekend!

FUN FACT FRIDAY!!

Let’s talk aphrodisiacs!

Aphrodisiacs are very unique to the individual! Some people enjoy food, drugs, or alcohol; others get turned on by certain smells or visual stimuli; some people are super aroused after an intense workout; and still others like nothing at all !

The study below is in favour of using ma*****na as an aphrodisiac. Since legalization in Canada, I get tons of questions about the effects of ma*****na on s*xuality. Generally speaking it does increase both desire and arousal, and often times leads to more intense or***ms! But again, this isn’t the case for everyone and of course there are people who don’t want to use ma*****na.

The key with aphrodisiacs is to experiment!!! You can never expect a partner to know how to turn you on if you yourself don’t know what gets your motor running 😉 Have fun with it! Try out various products that appeal to your five senses, and pay attention to what you do and don’t like.

Here are a few ideas to get you started, but the list is endless!

Site - po*******hy, erotica, watching your partner dance, admiring your partners naked body, watching each other undress, play around with various levels of lighting such as dim lights, natural daylight, or a dark room with only candlelight

Sounds - play soft music, loud music, use a sound machine for nature sounds or waterfalls, whisper in your partners ear, read erotica to one another

Smells - experiment with lighting candles, incense, showering together with a scented body wash, use flavoured massage oils

Taste - cook together using foods you’ve never tasted, feed each other chocolate dipped strawberries, oysters, drizzle some honey, whipped cream or chocolate sauce on each other’s bodies to be licked off by your partner

Touch - play around with various textiles and fabrics such as super soft sheets, slippery sheets, the feel of lingerie on your skin, have tickle fights, explore each other’s bodies to find erogenous zones that are often forgotten about such as the crease behind your knees, exchange massages using various amounts of pressure or using finger pads versus finger nails, take your time kissing softly, passionately, harder, with or without tongue

Play around, have fun, get in touch with your s*xuality and share the feedback. Let partners, or potential partners, know what you want more or less of !

Have a s*xy weekend 😘

A new study reveals that science is on our side.

Thank you so much for all the requests to bring back FUN FACT FRIDAY!

To kick it off again, I wanted to re-share one of my favourites! The reactions I see when people learn about the invention of medical devices known as 'ge***al massage instruments' are fantastic! 👏

And, as I mention in the comments of the original post; the take-away lesson is that next time you're feeling anxious, irritable, stressed, etc, it might not be a glass of wine that you need! 😉

Have a s*xy weekend! 😘
