Hello everybody!

I have created a very short survey on page feedback. We would greatly appreciate any of our followers filling it out :)

Thanks - B.M.

This survey is to determine if we have been successful in our efforts to generate conversations about mental health and provide resources for those local to St. John's, Newfoundland. All of your answers are private and secure; any data collected will be used solely for internal decisions.

Because you are too precious and special, I wanna tell you this....

°Water is good, flood is bad.
°Medication is beneficial, self-medication is harmful, drug addiction is deadly.
°Most of the substances we eat, drink, inhale, inject or ingest are drugs, even we do not know they are.
°Most of them act on our brain cells directly or indirectly over a period of time, even when we believe they do not.
* Brain cell damage is usually irreversible.
*Stop taking that un-prescribed substance today, yeah...the one not prescribed by a certified health practitioner.... It may spell doom for your mental health. (AYOKUNLE KENNY)

Wait!!! Check this .

*The brain is the central processing unit of the entire body systems.
*Hence, mental health status is the determinant of everyone's well-being.
* Mental illness does not necessarily mean malady or madness. Any negative tilt away from the normal mental status (moods, feelings, thinking, behavior) qualifies as illness.
* Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress/fear disorders are examples of mental illness.
*So, everyone is at risk.
*Therefore, stop stigmatizing anyone who has any mental challenge.
*Help them, assist them, love them. (AYOKUNLE Kenny)

Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses that people of all ages suffer through, and it’s also one of the most widely misunderstood disorders. Misconceptions lead to judgement which, in turn, leads to increased stigma; our goal is to provide the opposite effect.

Part of opening the conversation on mental illnesses is discussing what exactly these disorders do to the people who experience them. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is debilitating, but the more information we share about these disorders the more understanding and support will be offered to individuals.
It’s time to destigmatize mental illnesses.

You can use many apps to help maintain your mental wellness! Here are a few that are worth checking out.

⭐️ Finch - This app is a favourite of ours because it allows easy goal-setting while taking care of what Finch dubs "your new self-care best friend!"

⭐️ BetterHelp - Accessible by both phone and computer, BetterHelp allows you to reach a therapist at any time of day, no matter where you are.

⭐️ Headspace - If you enjoy meditation and mindfulness, you will love this app! They state they can reduce stress levels by 14% in 10 days!

Breathwork can help you to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety. Even just a few minutes during your lunch break can positively impact the rest of your work-day mood.

Take a moment to follow the exercise in the video below, or do the exercise on your own by following these steps:

Inhale for 5 seconds
Hold for 5 seconds
Exhale for 5 seconds

In a 2019 survey of working Canadians, 75% said they would be reluctant or refuse to share their mental illness with their employer or co-workers. The top reasons are the surrounding stigma and the fear of being judged or treated differently.

Despite impacting many, mental illness is often mocked or associated with labels such as crazy, lazy, or delusional. These preconceived notions and stereotypes that society places on mental illness are damaging to those suffering.

Reach out to your friends and loved ones to let them know you support them. - B.M.
