Long overdue post, but please welcome this rockstar to our experienced RMT team!!
Brenda Madden
Brenda has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2005. With a Kinesiology degree from Memorial University, a Massage Therapy diploma from Northumberland College in Halifax, and 20 years of experience, Brenda is one of the most highly trained and experienced massage therapists on the Avalon Peninsula. She is one of few local RMTs who has completed the Walt Fritz’s Manual Therapy for Vocal and Swallowing Disorders course, which assists singers with vocal strain; individuals with neck and throat issues; as well as those who experience difficulties swallowing following surgical intubation. Brenda also has extensive training in Gua Sha; body and face cupping; athletic therapy; pregnancy; myofascial release and scar tissue release, among others. Brenda is currently working on her trauma counselling certificate, with the goal of combining massage therapy with counselling practices to create psychosomatic therapy sessions which can address the physical, mental and emotional injuries that occur from medical-based shock traumas.
In her downtime, Brenda dabbles in multiple types of fibre art, including knitting, crocheting, and hand sewing. She also enjoys hanging out with her husband and kids and taking her dog for long walks.
