Are you up for a Heart Health Challenge??? “Eat the Rainbow"
Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables 🍎🥦🍇🍊 from the rainbow CONSISTENTLY can help improve heart health. Here's How eating the rainbow helps your heart ❤️

Red fruits and vegetables
Contain lycopene, which can help prevent heart disease, stroke, and cancer. Good sources include tomatoes, strawberries, and red peppers.

Orange and yellow fruits and vegetables
Contain carotenoids, which can help reduce the risk of heart disease and inflammation. Good sources include carrots, sweet potatoes, and oranges.

Blue and purple fruits and vegetables
Contain anthocyanins, which can help prevent blood clots and improve brain health. Good sources include blueberries, blackberries, and eggplant.

White and brown fruits and vegetables
Contain flavonoids and allicin, which can help reduce cholesterol and blood pressure. Good sources include broccoli, cauliflower, and garlic.

How to eat the rainbow

Today's Challenge is to choose heart-healthy snacks:

1. Fresh Fruits: Berries, citrus fruits, and apples are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and potassium.

2. Nuts and Seeds: Almonds, walnuts, chia seeds, and flaxseeds are high in healthy fats, protein, and fiber.

3. Veggie Sticks with Hummus: Carrot, celery, and cucumber sticks with a protein-rich hummus dip make for a satisfying snack.

4. Whole Grain Crackers with Avocado: Rich in healthy fats and fiber, avocado pairs well with whole grain crackers.

5. Edamame: These boiled soybeans are rich in protein, fiber, and vitamins.

6. Trail Mix: A mix of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits is a convenient and healthy snack option.

7. Protein Smoothie: Blend Greek yogurt, spinach, banana, and almond milk for a nutrient-rich snack.
