Myth: Females and people who menstruate are “too variable” for inclusion in research due to their hormonal cycles

🤔 Males also exhibit significant hormonal fluctuations, including diurnal variation in testosterone and other hormones

📈 The menstrual and estrous cycles can be reliably tracked and modelled statistically in both human and rodent models

⚖️ Excluding females has led to significant gaps in neuroscience and biomedicine, limiting accurate knowledge and application for ALL sexes
