The Belmont is steadily returning to normalcy, and we're thrilled to welcome back Carol, our fantastic hairdresser who visits weekly to ensure everyone looks and feels their best.

Warm welcome back Sass Dempsey from the Creemore Sanctuary Health and Wellness Studio. Sass brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, holding degrees in BSc, BPHE, and BED, along with IAYT certification. Her Chair Yoga sessions are back weekly right here at the Belmont , and we encourage everyone to check them out, along with her fellow studio colleagues!

Additionally, we’re happy to welcome our Co-op student, Jenna, to the team.

As we continue to enhance our environment, stay tuned for a sneak peek of our temporary building spaces. The Belmont prides itself on creating beautiful, homey spaces that everyone can enjoy!

This past weekend, The Belmont celebrated Family Day and Valentine's Day with a warm and joyful gathering. We welcomed Jimmy, who graciously helped us feel at home in our temporary building and entertained us with his music. Linda also joined us, showcasing her beautiful caricature drawings, which added a special touch to the festivities. A heartfelt thank you goes to Bakery by the Bay for their generous donation of delicious valentines baked goods for our party. Thankyou to senior wish for providing us with some decos and treats !

It was a delightful way to mark our first celebration back in Stayner, and we feel incredibly fortunate to live in such a beautiful township that offers abundant community support.

Continuing the celebration, on Tuesday, we enjoyed "Shrove Tuesday," featuring classic pancakes, crispy bacon, and fresh fruit.

As we navigate this transition in our temporary home, we are continually amazed by the resilience of our clients and family members, along with the unwavering support they have provided us.

Today, the Belmont would like to extend heartfelt recognition to the Senior Wish Association Clearview for their invaluable support. They have played a vital role in our journey, assisting us with gathering donations, sponsoring meals, and warmly welcoming us to our new temporary building in Stayner. Their efforts ensured that our transition was seamless.

We would also like to highlight a special moment: on the day of our arrival, the Senior Wish Association managed to contact Santa, who visited us, bringing joy and happy smiles to everyone present.

A special thank you goes to Dianne (Friends Pub) for her efforts and collaboration with the Senior Wish Association in providing us with a beautiful last-minute pasta dinner, complete with salad and a delightful pineapple upside-down cake. The Senior Wish Association has truly gone above and beyond for us, and words cannot fully express our gratitude for their generosity and dedication.

Today, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible support we've received from the County of Simcoe during this challenging time. Their efforts have gone above and beyond for both our clients and staff, paying attention to every detail, including our temporary housing arrangements and needs in the building.

The professionalism and communication from the County have been absolutely incredible. They have consistently advocated on our behalf, ensuring that essential services are in place and that our situation is treated with the urgency it deserves. The County of Simcoe has truly stepped up, providing a vital voice for us when things have felt slow or less than urgent.

The Belmont family is staying strong as we await news on our moving date. In the meantime, here are some snapshots from our week filled with waffles, social gatherings, entertainment, and cozy moments with hot chocolate. We've been enjoying games and puzzles to keep our spirits high.

A heartfelt shout-out goes to the Quality Inn and Conference Centre in Midland for going above and beyond with their services and all the extra support they provide to create a more enjoyable environment for our clients.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes, collecting donations and items for our upcoming relocation. Your efforts mean the world to us, and we can't thank you enough. Our community truly embodies the spirit of small-town roots!

Additionally, I want to highlight the incredible commitment of our staff, who have braved challenging weather conditions to ensure everyone in Midland is well cared for. They have gone above and beyond, dedicating their time by staying overnight when travel conditions were too dangerous. Their willingness to put in extra hours and work tirelessly is a testament to their dedication. I can honestly say that in my 29 years in this profession, I have never seen a team quite like ours in senior living healthcare. A special thanks to all our staff and our newly acquired staffers from Creemore! 😉

A special shout-out also goes to the incredible restaurants that have treated us so well, providing extra support and delicious meals. I’ll share a list of these fantastic places soon!
