What an honour it was to travel up the coast and be invited by the National Indigenous Peoples Alliance (NIPA) to deliver a Health & Wellness presentation.
Thank you to Chief Mildred and the whole NIPA team for the warm welcome — truly appreciated.

With winter settling in, I’ve decided to shift my presentations a bit. It’s harder this time of year to bring people out on the land for foraging and medicine walks, so I’m leaning into my 35+ years of experience in health and wellness and combining it with our traditional medicines for a more holistic approach.

In this session we covered:
🌿 Grounding & the science of the Schumann frequency
🌿 Microbiome health & traditional foods
💧 Hydration & mineral balance
🧘 Mobility and stretching for daily wellness
🌱 Medicinal plants like dandelion, chaga, and Old Man’s Beard

Lots of interaction, great questions, and an overall amazing day.

I’m excited to continue offering presentations that blend natural medicines, holistic wellness, and Indigenous knowledge to support our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

🌿 Medicine Walk with the Port au Port Indian Band 🌿

What a beautiful day it was this past weekend to lead a medicine walk for the port au port indian band. The weather couldn’t have been better, and the energy from everyone who joined made it even more special.

We began the day by talking about true grounding — reconnecting to the Earth, literally, through bare feet and understanding our place within the mycelium network that connects all living things. From there, we took a slow wander through the forest, identifying several medicinal plants along the way.

Before we even made it out of the parking lot, we were already marking plants in my upcoming book, Backyard Medicine, which served as our reference guide for the walk. The group’s enthusiasm and curiosity were incredible — so many thoughtful questions and meaningful conversations about our connection to Mother Earth.

This walk was also a milestone for me — one of my first official events since launching my new business, Newfoundland Naturalist. I’m so excited for what’s ahead in the coming months as I continue to share, learn, and walk this path of reconnection, education, and healing.
