December is coming fast, which means the busiest time of year in healthcare is coming fast!

Make sure to pre-book (and keep) your appointments, it makes our lives a lot easier during this chaotic time of year!

We get it. Stuff comes up.

HOWEVER - it’s really important to go to the appointments you make. When you no-show, you’ve potentially taken that needed appointment from someone else.

Something a lot of people don’t necessarily realize is that you’ve also taken money from that practitioner. Most times, we’re paid a percent of the service cost. So unless the missed visit charge is 100% of the visit, everyone in the situation loses.

Are you one of the forgetful people? Set alarms and reminders to go off at certain times before your appointment so that you can either remind yourself that you need to be somewhere soon, or maybe a reminder 30 hours before the appointment to give yourself even more time to confirm your schedule.

Have you been told your baby will ‘grow out of it’?

A lot of the time, that normalizes dysfunction, and can often lead to more serious issues down the road.

Take a flat head for example: many people will tell you that it’ll get better when baby is able to sit up. And while that might be true in some cases, a lot of the time the skull will have solidified into that shape.

I believe prevention is key, but second to that is getting help asap when a problem arises. I see it all the time with adults, and unfortunately that mentality has drifted to babies and kids too.
