The ✨️ papasan chair ✨️
As a young child, I had a friend that had one of these chairs at their house and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I fell in love with it and it's one of those things that stuck with me throughout my life and always wanting one.
I did end up getting one when I temporarily lived in BC a while ago but had to sell it when I moved back home in Alberta.
Fast forward to present day Kayla! I am just a girl who found her dream chair for $25 at the local epic garage sale (that's actually what this garage sale is called lol)
I scrapped the cushion because that's easy enough to replace and I don't trust where that cushion had been. But, the bones of this chair is what it's all about. The structure was in impeccable shape and there was only one little thing to fix.
The original plan was to just wipe it down with some "restore" but as I washed it, whatever stain/finish was on there was crumbling off. And you know what? If you're gonna do something, just do it right the first time. So I sanded the entire thing down, made the minor repair it needed, stained it back to somewhat of the original color, and now here she is! She turned out absolutely beautiful and I really feel like the chair appreciated my love and care that I put into restoring her beauty. Call me cazy! Anyways. She is now mine forever and ever no matter what or where I end up in life.
