Rick Van Hassel is a graduate from WCCMT's 20-Month Massage Therapy course. No stranger to working in massage and rehabilitation, Rick has practiced as a Kinesiologist since 2002, a Shiatsu Therapist since 2005, and a Cranial Sacral Therapist since 2007. He is very happy to be a contributing member of the team at Sun Peaks Massage Therapy.
Rick’s massage therapy practice generally focuses on full-body sessions, using techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilizations and active movements to support each patient with a customized approach. Neurological aspects of muscle function are always considered - as our nervous system greatly impacts the effectiveness of massage techniques.
TMJ dysfunction, cervical spine issues and Cranial Sacral therapy are a few areas where Rick is particularly interested in at the moment.
Rick loves working with people actively seeking to improve their well being, and in his life enjoys movement in many forms of course including outdoor recreation - Skiing, Hiking and Cycling.
