Ian is a co-founder and the CTO of IUVOX ⚙️

He is a fifth-year Mechatronics Systems Engineer student at SFU specializing in software and control system engineering, but he is learning a lot about hardware product design while developing our technology.

Three words that would describe him best are: methodical, reliable and funny.

Five facts about him:
- He was born and raised in BC, Canada. 🇨🇦
- He enjoys the outdoors, being around animals and playing board games or sports with friends.
- He also enjoys both making and listening to all kinds of music.
- Some of his external interests include philosophy, physics and neuroscience.
- He hasn’t been able to travel too much because of school but he is looking forward to a long international trip once he graduates.

His favorite place on Earth are the Gulf Islands.

Thank you so much to the QEC team for hosting such an exceptional event. We are greatly thankful for the opportunity to participate in the Top 6 final round at the Queen's Entrepreneurs' Competition - QEC this year, we received some wonderful feedback and insights from the panel of judges. We are extremely motivated to continue our journey as entrepreneurs.

IUVOX is almost 1 year old!

2021 has been a year full of progress, learning, and successes. We want to thank our mentors, supporters, and the SFU community for the ongoing support and the trust. We wouldn’t have gone this far if it wasn’t for all of you.

We would like to highlight some of our :

- Ian and Michelle were granted an eCoop position each for both Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 at SFU's Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection
- We were offered a spot in the MEDTEQ+ Acceleration Innovation Program
- Two new members joined our team: Emiliano De la O and Lorena Carranza
- We started to engage with professors and researchers in UBC Dentistry and the Faculté de médecine dentaire - Université de Montréal who will be leading our lab research
- We were invited to the finals of several competitions such as Venture Prize, the Business Model Canvas, Coopérathon and Queen's Entrepreneurs' Competition - QEC

We are a heavily tech team with four mechatronics systems engineers and one business lead. We came together through the TechE program at SFU in early November last year and started IUVOX in January, 2021.
