Introducing…..me! Well, at least my face 🥰 I’ve spoken to so many of you since I’ve started this account but realized not very many know me or what I look like.

So, in case you’re new here my name is Nitu. I am a registered holistic nutritionist that works one on one with my clients to support them with their wellness goals! I also love to work with growing athletes that need some guidance on maintaining proper nutrition so I joined the amazing Dhani as his team nutritionist!

Nutrition to me is something that should be fun and full of everything you love; this is why my approach is always about finding balance, providing you lifelong tools and skills, and honestly, making it enjoyable!

I have a lot of experience in the wellness industry so we won’t just work with nutrition but also how to take care of yourself in all the aspects of your life too.

So if you’ve been waiting to chat but didn’t know where to start - DM me 💌 let’s talk!

Sharing a product with you all today! For some time now I’ve been using nut butters for pretty much anything - toast, oatmeal, smoothies, with apples- you name it.

What I love about Fatso is not only that it’s a local brand from just across the way in Victoria BC but it takes the consumer’s health into mind by focusing on nutritious and whole food ingredients. It’s made from peanuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, MCT oil and some more deliciously nutrient packed ingredients!

It’s definitely and a personal recommendation of mine if you’re looking to add some extra healthy fats into your diet! I mean, who doesn’t love peanut butter?!

As always - live life balanced! 🤍

Vitamin B12! Everyone knows about it but not a lot about it. It’s a fat soluble vitamin which means it’s stored in fat cells in your body for a looooong time before you notice anything is off should it start to deplete 📉

Typically, you don’t need to supplement it but should you need to - always consult your doctor first to understand the levels in your body first.

As always, live life in balance! 🤍

Let’s talk about variety & consistent eating! Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have kale 🥬 smoothies and salads🥗 all day, it means working with your body to understand what feels good and what doesn’t; it means finding a balance in the foods you love to indulge in 🍫🍰🍿 and the foods you know are needed for your body to function at its best; it means that you stay consistent in fuelling yourself to take on your day to day with ease.

So what’s consistent and why is variety important? Staying consistent with your timing in meals can help regulate your blood sugar levels and sustain your energy levels throughout the day with little to no crashes.💥📈

Eating a variety of foods will help ensure that you are consuming the most of each food group to get your daily nutritional requirements like minerals, vitamins and fibre.

Your day could look like always having breakfast around a certain time like 🥞 🍳 8-10am, have a snack in between and then lunch around 12-2pm 🥙 🥪, snack between 2-4pm, dinner around 5-7pm🍝🍲 followed by a smaller snack if you’re still hungry!

Opt for well balanced meals that have protein paired with your carbohydrate and always add some greens to the mix!

As always, enjoy the balance 🙏🏽

Vitamin C! An easily accessible water soluble vitamin found is so many different fruits and vegetables! 🍋 🍊 🥦

It’s been widely believed to be a partner of our immune system in preventing colds and flus - although research is still ongoing! It’s believed to also be useful in skin burns and ulcers because of its quick healing properties.

The DRI’s in Canada for Vitamin C are below:

Children 1-8 years old - 15-25mg/day
Males 9-18 years old - 45-75mg/day
Males >18 years old - 90mg/day
Females 9-18 years old - 45-65mg/day
Females > 19 years old - 90mg/day

*Note: smoking individuals will need a higher intake of Vitamin C per day due to the increase of oxidative stress*

There ya have it! Take a look at this quick info chart to get to know Vitamin C!

As always friends! Live life in balance 🤍

Hey coffee fiends! This one’s for you. Did you know that coffee can actually be beneficial for you? Uh ya - you can absolutely enjoy your coffee fix and know that it’s doing you some good! Depending on how you drink it of course.

Coffee has been around for over 500 years and has taken the world by a storm! Although we know it in it’s true dark and rich glory, did you know that it’s actually a fruit?! Coffee beans are a processed form of the seeds from a berry! Swipe to see the pic!

Here’s how to drink coffee for the most benefits:

* Drink it black. That’s right - black coffee is rich in antioxidants and contains a hefty amount of nutrients like b vitamins (b5, b3) and potassium!

* Have you cup of Joe bright and early to avoid sleeping issues when drinking it later on in the day.

* Add a sprinkle of cinnamon for it’s glycemic benefits and flavour

* Add a healthy fat like coconut oil (MCT)

So tell me how YOU take your coffee?!

As always, live life in balance!
