“Recovery is a journey that requires us to submit and trust God’s timeline. Yes, we do have a part to play but even our effort has to be guided by the Holy Spirit.”
Last night’s testimony reminded us of something we don’t always want to hear—but desperately need to remember:
Healing doesn’t happen overnight.
Freedom isn’t instant.
But God’s forgiveness is.
Growth rarely follows our schedule.
So many of us come into recovery wanting change right now. We want the pain gone, the patterns broken, the answers clear. But God’s work in us is deeper than quick fixes—He’s not just changing what we do, He’s transforming who we are.
There is a part we play. It looks like showing up. Being honest. Taking steps. Doing the work even when it’s uncomfortable.
But even that effort was never meant to be carried alone.
We are not called to strive our way to healing—we are called to surrender our way through it. To trust that even when it feels slow, God is not late. Even when it feels messy, He is still working. Even when we stumble, He is still holding us.
If you’re in a season where progress feels slow or invisible, this is your reminder:
God is not rushing your story.
He is redeeming it.
Stay the course. Keep showing up. Keep surrendering.
You’re not behind—you’re being formed.
