Pure YogAbility

Pure YogAbility There is a common misconception that yoga is limited to a select few who are physically and mentally able. The truth is, Yoga is open to every one.

"Saying you're not flexible enough for yoga is like saying you're too dirty to take a bath" - unknown. In the west we tend to focus on the physical benefits from the poses which enables more strength and flexibility. This is undoubtedly beneficial for a healthier and more independent lifestyle. At Pure Yogability we also put a strong emphasis on the mental benefits of breath to encourage focus and

calm. Our classes, whether private or group, welcome people with intellectual disabilities focusing on simple and effective poses combined with breath and relaxation techniques . Dependent on what the student and their caretakers believe to be more relevant the class is tailored to these requests.eg. relaxation, strength, stretch. Charli Armstrong, founder of Pure Yogability, has been teaching yoga since 2012 and working with people with intellectual and/or multiple disabilities since early 2015. She has a passion for sharing yoga through various levels to make it approachable to everyone as she has seen the benefits through her own life and the lives of her clients.
