Spending so much time watching people of all ages moving I tend to focus on where a spine has movement and where it doesn’t.

Younger people have lots of subtle movements between their vertebrae even if they are not consciously moving them. We can call this in lay terms the grease and oil that allows movement between vertebrae. However, when a person never initiates movement throughout his/her/they spine, the spine will slowly begin to lose the ability to have movement between the vertebrae. Our posture, work patterns, hereditary patterns and sports activities greatly affect the aging of the spine.

Too much impact and strengthening exercises can further impact the movements of the spine. Working to create as much intervertebral movement needs to be part of our daily routines. Starting the locking in of vertebrae in a younger body only decreases movement potential in the aging body.

Are you even aware of where your spine can move and where whole parts move as a unit?
Look at your old work patterns and see if they are locked into your spine. Due to gravity, very often the entire lumbar spine is fairly stuck and no longer has movement. What about the upper thoracic spine and the cervical area calcifying from computer and cell phone usage?

Every area the spine is stuck is a potential loss of your fabulous energy

Taking care of your feet couldn't be easier!
Foot clinic Feb 15/24
Sylvan Lake, AB

In this clinic you will learn how your feet may be involved in any ache or pain you have in another part of your body.
Overtime a poorly aligned walking pattern creates a repetitive stress pattern that will cause an injury to a part of the foot that is continually overused
which can result in bunions, hammer/claw toes, plantar fasciitis , Morton’s neuroma, fallen arches, flat feet, hallux ridigis, weak- unstable ankles
and other uncomfortable often painful foot conditions.

You will learn how to retrain your feet to walk more correctly. With this step by step approach you will become keenly aware of the different parts of your
feet and how each part should function independently.

We will also be using special props called ‘Foot Wakers’– to restore healthy foot function by creating muscle tone, strength and flexibility,
improving circulation and proper gait (walking patterns).

Mindful practices that check in on our posture and gait as you go about your day will maintain your foot health and ensure bad habits never return.

What is Yamuna® Body Rolling?

Building muscle and establishing aerobic fitness are both great objectives in achieving and maintaining a healthy body. But, what about your flexibility? Your mobility? Your range of motion?

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.

Yamuna® Body Rolling (YBR) gives people distinct methods to work on themselves in order to sustain their postures, flexibilities, strengths, and alignments throughout their lives. It has been widely used in many countries in North America, Europe, South America, and Oceania and in Japan.

Yamuna®Body Rolling (YBR®) incorporates the principles of yoga and massage, gravity and body weight resulting in tension release, creating a taller lengthened torso and experiencing more space in the body. When we work with connective tissue we are able to increase range of motion. By learning specific routines with specially-designed balls, YBR® teaches you how to align your bones and massage your muscles and fascia. The ball acts as a hands-on practitioner, dislodging tension, restoring range of motion, increasing flexibility, and improving organ and system function.
