Hello, my name is Brad! I have been skiing for 39 years now. I am a CADS instructor and I am the president for the CADS board. My favourite part of the CADS season is seeing the athletes progress and enjoy themselves! That is what it is all about for me. When I am not on the hill you can find me working around the house. This summer I was camping, fishing and attending music festivals/camps. I volunteer my time with this organization because I want to bring the joy of skiing and sliding to others. My favourite ski hill is whichever one I am at, but I love the small local hills. I look forward to working alongside our other instructors and on snow volunteers to make this next CADS season a blast!

Hello, my name is Ashlyn! I have been skiing for 23 years now. I am a CADS instructor and I do the social media and program coordinator for the CADS board. My favourite part of the CADS season is all the laughs and smiles! When I am not on the hill you can find me working with animals. Some things that I got up to this summer was camping, paddle boarding, and painting. I volunteer my time with this organization because I love that we are making it possible for families to ski together. My favourite ski hill is Kicking Horse. I look forward to working alongside our other instructors and on snow volunteers to make this next CADS season a blast!

Hello, my name is Lori! I have been skiing since I was 16. I am a CADS instructor and a director on the board. My favourite part of the season were all the smiles, they truly are the best! When I’m not on the hill I train and compete in dog sports. My dog, Maylie, and I train agility, barn hunt and sprinters. I also raise meat goats so they take up a lot of my time, especially in spring when they ate having babies. Some things I like to do in the summer months are camping, fishing, paddling, and hanging out on the farm. I chose to volunteer my time to this organization because I wanted to share my love of skiing with others. My favourite ski hill would be Panorama or Big White on pow day. In the next CADS ski season I look forward to new students and volunteers. We have such a great program that I look forward to watching it grow.

My name is Heather, I am a cross country skier. I learned to downhill ski at Tawatinaw when I was in junior high- many years ago! I am a "behind the scenes" volunteer- I help with coordinating Slide and Ride events, club business, answering emails- a little bit of everything. I am also the Treasurer of the Board. I love being out on the hill and watching our athletes and their families enjoy their skiing experience. In the summer months I am busy with hiking, biking and canoeing. I am semi-retired and enjoy work and volunteer work, as well as family time and hobbies. I volunteer my time because in my early career I worked in Rehabilitation and I have a strong belief in making winter sports accessible. Plus the other CADS volunteers make it fun! We have a really strong and committed team. My favourite hill is Tawatinaw of course! I look forward to seeing our club grow and develop so that we can offer this experience to more athletes and families.

My name is Matthew and I have been skiing since 1985. I started my CADS journey as a volunteer, but now I am completing my instructor training. I am apart of the Tawatinaw Valley CADS board of directors. My favourite part of the cads season was having fun skiing with the athletes. When I am not on the hill I am travelling and working on restoring cars. Some things I like to do in the summer months are camping, travel, and canoeing. I volunteer my time with this organization because I know all the people involved and knew it would be tons of fun. My favourite ski hills would be Fernie, when conditions are good, Whistler if you can get a deal on lift tickets. I look forward to seeing the progression in the CADS athletes next season.

Hello, my name is Joanne and I joined CADS because of what the volunteers are achieving and how great the organization is. Although I play a minor role as Secretary and do not attend the events at the hill often. I feel very honoured to be involved with these highly dedicated instructors. The positive impact this program has on families and youth can not be applauded enough. Looking forward to spreading the word and encouraging all adaptive skiers to come and try. The joy you will feel being apart of this program is contagious. My favourite ski hill is Tawatinaw Valley.

Hello everyone,
Although spring has finally arrived, our group of Board members and volunteers are still wrapping up activities from our 2024/2025 season. And most importantly, we are already starting to prepare for our 2025/2026 season.

Thank you!
For those athletes and families, and for our volunteers last season, we want to send you a big thank you for participating! We had a great season, capped off with our Slide and Ride in March, which was an amazing day! If you aren't already following our new instagram, please check us out. We will have updates and topics of interest throughout the summer months. We are already starting to plan some fun early-season activities such as a movie night at the Tawatinaw Valley chalet.

We want to also send a big thank you for the donors who helped us get started- Matt Steinbring raised funds for the program and the Savage family held a concussion awareness day. Proceeds from that day were donated to our program. We also received a generous donation from the Rochester United Church.

For future athletes:
In preparation for next season, we are already wanting to start a list of interested athletes and volunteers. If you are an athlete or a family member of an athlete, and if you would like to be part of our program in the 2025/2026 season, please send us an email and we will send you an application form. We have a limited number of spots available so we may not be able to accept everyone, but letting us know early helps us to plan for the year. We are working to increase our instructor numbers so that we can accommodate more athletes next season.

For volunteers:
If you are interested in volunteering for our CADS club, please email us and we will send you an application form. We are looking in particular for individuals who are interested in becoming on-snow volunteers and potentially, future instructors. We are in the process of arranging for training and orientation programs, but it is not necessary to have completed those before you volunteer. If you have other skills and talents and you are interested in offering those, please let us know.
