Oh, hello! It's Amrita and Alana here. Welcome to our FIRST POST EVER on our new page! On the International day of the WOMAN! Woo!

We have joined chiropractic and pelvic floor physiotherapy SUPERHERO forces to create one, beautiful, blended SUPERPOWER💥, made by women, FOR women.

We put our superhero heads together, and P**F! Months and months later 😆, we created our structured program, combining perinatal care with chiropractic and pelvic floor physiotherapy.

💟 This is a structured, multi-disciplinary program for prenatal and postnatal women with in-person and virtual options.
👑 It's your crown, and your treatment, YOU get to decide what you want it to look like. We will design it with YOUR goals in mind.
🎓 The perinatal world continues to change. We stay up to date with all the latest research in manual therapy and pre/post-natal exercise, to serve YOU better.
🤓 We are both super nerds when it comes to prenatal and postnatal manual treatment (hence we LOVE what we do)

WAYS TO GET KIDS ACTIVE INDOORS (and get them climbing onto things that aren't your head, your back and your lap):

My brother-in-law Trevor MADE this beast of an indoor climbing gym for my nephew and niece and they are LOVING it. It keeps their brain AND their body active and those are two amazing things we can do for our kids.

Here you can see the two climbers preparing to summit Mount Kilimanjaro 🧗🏽‍♀️

It is SO important to keep our kids moving during this unusual time we are living through.

THINGS I LEARNED WHILE ON MATERNITY LEAVE:
..ALSO - PostureMePerfect is BACK and ALIVE again! 👐

1. How to make a really good pot of tea. IT IS TRULY AN ART for those of us who no longer drink coffee but still need caffeine 🍵

2. How to fry an egg to PERFECTION. If you're turning your nose up at this thinking you already know how, then I'm sure you won't mind answering why you pay someone to make it for you at your favorite Sunday brunch spot. Because.of.the.PERFECTION. Eggsactly.

3. Realizing that I will need a TEAM to help me transition to the NEW ME. A solid social network, a medical doctor, a naturopath, a psychotherapist, a chiropractor, a physiotherapist, a trainer, a massage therapist --> I still use MANY of these care providers. Your team may look different, however one thing is true, make sure you choose wisely, leading me into

4. TRUST YOUR GUT. Do this for #3.

5. If there was a crying competition between you and baby, BABY would win, hands down.

6. Yoda was right, "The more we learn, the more we discover how much we do not know." Keep.on.learning! NOBODY has it figured out, even if they seem like they do.

A little late but needed to post this today. I’ve realized I have a lot to learn about the plight of indigenous people in Canada. Growing up on the prairies did shed some light but not nearly enough, on this deep rooted heartache that is a large part of our country’s history. And it is much more than wearing an orange shirt. Let the learning and healing begin 🙏 Posted • Orange Shirt Day (which is also known as the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation)- on September 30th is a day to honour the Indigenous children who were forcibly taken away from their families through the Residential “School” system. It is a day to raise awareness about the struggles that Indigenous communities have faced and the violence and inter generational impacts Indigenous communities face to this day.

Swipe to learn more about the meaning of Orange Shirt day and how Phyllis Webstad, an Indigenous woman started Orange Shirt Day.

This is a day not only to recognize the Indigenous children taken from their communities and families, but also day to honour those who survived, as well as the families and communities affected.

On this day, it is important to not only show your support by wearing an orange t-shirt or article of clothing but also continuing to practice allyship and educate others around you.

FUNDRAISING FOR MARK

Mark is 11.

He's the son of a dear friend of ours who lives in Toronto. Mark lives in the Philippines with his brother and grandfather.

Weeks ago, Mark began having flu-like symptoms and difficulty breathing. His grandfather took him to the closest hospital, and it was AT capacity. They moved from hospital to hospital, each with the same story, only room in Emerg at best to stabilize him, due to Covid-19 surge.

Eventually, the 7th hospital (yes 7th) had room.

He was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. Mark was almost in a coma when he presented to the first hospitals.

He is finally home, after 2.5 weeks in the hospital, having to share hospital rooms with suspected covid-19 patients (due to capacity issues). He will be on insulin for life.

I am raising money to support his family with lifetime medications (insulin), emergency flight, and miscellaneous expenses.
