This law lets you find out if a current or former partner has a documented history of violence, helping you make informed decisions about your safety. Paired with support like safety planning, counselling, and access to shelters, it’s an important step toward preventing domestic violence.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In recognition, we will be sharing myth-busting posts, information, and resources throughout the month.

Did you know? There is no time limit to report sexual assault.
Survivors can come forward at any time, whether the assault happened recently or years ago. You can also choose to report to police at any time, including through third party reporting.

If you choose to report, Hummingbird Advocates can support you by:
-Attending legal appointments such as police statements and court processes
-Providing resources and information about your options
-Assisting with Third Party Reports (TPR), which allow you to report anonymously without involving a police investigation or court process

Learn more on our website.
