A pinched nerve puts a person more at risk for other problems. Symptoms of sciatica, tennis elbow, and carpal tunnel syndrome may appear in people with a pinched nerve.
Pinched nerves can occur anywhere in the body but happen most often in the neck, back, elbows, and wrists. Regular chiropractic adjustments can reduce stress to treat pinched nerves as well as prevent them overall.

Chiropractic is a great way to treat various types of posture conditions, including:
– Kyphosis, also known as a hunchback, is a condition where your upper back curves too far forward, causing a hunch. This condition often comes with pain and stiffness in the back.
– Flat back is a condition where the natural curve in the back has straightened out, involving symptoms such as constant back or leg pain and difficulty standing up straight.
– Hyperlordosis, also known as swayback, is when there is an excessive spine curvature in the back, impacting the mobility and causing pain in your back.
– Forward neck, or text neck, is a condition in which your head leans forward from the shoulders. For every inch that your head is leaning forward, there are approximately ten extra pounds of stress put on your neck, back, shoulders, and spine. These are also the areas that you will feel stiffness, tension and neck pain.
By going to a chiropractic doctor, your poor posture can be properly treated. Through a healing plan tailored to your condition and body, you can naturally return to good posture.
In honor of our 10th ANNIVERSARY, we are offering free initial exams for the month of July. For a thorough analysis of your spine, come see Dr. Dennis or Dr. Leon by calling 905-695-0158 to set-up an appointment!

ALL ABOUT THE CERVICAL SPINE
The cervical spine – that is, the upper seven of our vertebrae – must surely rank among the most under-appreciated and most vital parts of our body. Its 37 separate joints endlessly allow the head and neck to move atop the torso – all the while obeying constant commands from the special senses and reflex mechanisms.
Look at it this way: the cervical spine faithfully holds up our heavy heads between 14 to 16 hours a day. This is hardly easy. First of all, the head is far from evenly balanced on top of our spine. In fact, it’s tilted heavily forward; without the cervical muscles, it would topple over onto our chest.
Secondly, the head’s weight can become unbearable over time. (If you’d like to get a clearer picture, try this experiment: hold a bowling ball with your elbow on a table for as long as you can. Few people can keep this up longer than an hour.)
That means the cervical spine is a vital part of nearly all our everyday activities, including speaking, gesturing, sitting, standing, lying down, breathing and many more. Most of what our head does, it does thanks to the cervical spine.
And that’s why you’ll be glad to know that chiropractors have led the way in recognizing the cervical spine’s uniqueness – even from the rest of the spine – and caring for it accordingly!

Fun Chiropractic fact:
The popping sound you hear during adjustments is just air being released when the joint space is opened!
