Yes indeed. People like this do exist! They are barometers for how well the education system is doing.

Very true

A word to the younger generation:

Your grandmother wore very mini mini skirts, tall boots, and bell bottom jeans.
She went to Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, and The Rolling Stones concerts.
She drove a mini car, rode motorcycles, and fast scooters.
She used to smoke and drink whiskey and gin & tonics.
She would sneak in at 4 am and still make it to work the next day.

So as cool as you think you are... you'll never be as cool as your grandma!!

I was a kid in the '40s in Port Credit, and saw Bathurst St then many times with my parents. But to someone from 1915, Bathurst today (2024) would be of course, unrecognizable.

My Dad, my older brother, and me, about 1946, in Mississauga, Ontario. My Dad was one of the best Dads a son could ever have. When we were older, he would take my brother and I fishing and hunting, and with my Mom as well, would play cards for hours at our cottage on Lake Dalrymple. Dad taught me how to drive a car, starting on back country roads (I was only 15), and how to load and fire a shotgun and a rifle. Dad caught the largest small-mouth bass ever recorded in 1959, at our cottage. It was just under 6 lbs.
My Dad was a good dancer, singer, and could really play the mouth-organ. He worked at Anaconda American Brass for close to 40 years. I really miss him.
