✨ What is your why for therapy? ✨

In EMDR therapy, we often start with your why.
➡️ Why are you here?
➡️ What do you hope will feel different?
➡️ What parts of your story feel heavy that you’re ready to put down?

Your why could be wanting better sleep, fewer triggers, or more peace in your daily life. It could be breaking free from past experiences that still show up in the present. Or it could simply be wanting to feel more you again.

With EMDR, we don’t just talk about your why—we work with your brain and body to help you get there. 💫

👉 So, what’s your why?

🌿 How do you know if you’re “ready” for therapy?

The truth is—you don’t need to have it all figured out before you start. Being ready isn’t about having the “right” problem or hitting rock bottom. It’s about being open to exploring yourself and letting someone walk alongside you.

You might be ready if…
✨ You’re noticing patterns you’d like to change.
✨ Life feels heavy, overwhelming, or just “too much.”
✨ You’re curious about why you think/feel the way you do.
✨ You’re tired of only surviving and want to start thriving.
✨ You’re willing to accept support instead of going it alone.

Therapy isn’t just for crisis—it’s for growth, healing, and self-discovery. 💙

📩 If you’re wondering if now might be your time, reach out—we’d love to chat.

Meet the Team Monday!

Jordan Gross, RP, RN, BscN, MACP

Jordan specializes in supporting clients who have tried therapy before and still feel stuck. Many of the people he works with continue to struggle with anxiety, depression, numbness, or disconnection despite investing deeply in their healing. Jordan’s mission is to help them finally find the sense of ease and reconnection they’ve been searching for.

Jordan’s approach is grounded, collaborative, and holistic. Jordan often integrates EMDR with parts work to reach the deeper layers of experience and create lasting, meaningful change. Jordan works with children, teens, and adults navigating trauma, OCD, dissociation, and more — always tailoring therapy to meet each person where they are.

At Innovative Counselling Ontario, all of the clinicians are EMDR-trained, and together they are committed to helping clients move from surviving to thriving.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll usually find Jordan out in nature, exploring or enjoying the quiet. One quote that guides his work is: “We’re all just walking each other home.”

✨ What is EMDR? ✨

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy approach designed to help people heal from difficult or traumatic experiences. Instead of just talking about the memory, EMDR helps your brain reprocess it—so it feels less distressing and overwhelming.

💡 EMDR can be helpful for:
• Trauma and PTSD
• Anxiety and panic
• Grief and loss
• Phobias and fears
• Negative beliefs about yourself

Think of it as helping your brain file away painful experiences in the right “drawer,” so they no longer spill over into your daily life.

At EMDR Wellness Centre, every one of our clinicians is trained in EMDR, making us the first and only clinic of its kind locally. 🌟

You don’t have to carry heavy memories alone—healing is possible. 💛

🌟 Living your best life doesn’t mean having it all together. 🌟

Life is messy. It’s full of ups, downs, struggles, and surprises—and that’s okay. None of us are meant to have it all figured out.

You’ve got this… and we’ve got you. 🌿

Why did we create a dedicated EMDR clinic?
We founded it for these reasons:

🌟 For Clients:
• Specialized care: Clients know they’re walking into a space where EMDR is the primary focus, not just one option among many.
• Consistency: Every clinician is trained and aligned in their approach, which creates trust and predictability in treatment.
• Hope & credibility: It signals to the community that EMDR is a well-established, evidence-based therapy—especially for trauma, anxiety, and other struggles.

👩‍⚕️ For Clinicians:
• Shared expertise: Working alongside other EMDR-trained therapists creates a culture of collaboration and support.
• Ongoing growth: Easier to consult, train, and sharpen skills when surrounded by colleagues who “speak the same language.”
• Focus: Clinicians can deepen their craft instead of being spread thin across many modalities.

🏥 For the Community:
• Unique resource: It becomes a go-to hub for trauma therapy in the region, raising awareness and reducing stigma.
• Accessibility: People know exactly where to go if they want EMDR—no guessing which therapist offers it.
• Advocacy & education: A dedicated clinic can lead community workshops, talks, and trainings to make trauma care more accessible.

👉 In short: A dedicated EMDR clinic builds trust, expertise, and visibility—it makes EMDR more approachable and shows the community that healing from trauma is possible.
