If you are 25-69 and have *ever* been s*xually active, even it's been with the same person for many years, you should be getting regular cervical screening tests.

The cervical screening test checks for types of human papillomavirus (HPV), a virus that can sometimes cause cervical cancer in people with a cervix.

Someone can have HPV for many years and not know it unless they get the cervical screening test.

The new cervical screening test, implemented in 2025, feels just like getting a Pap test, and checks for types of HPV that can cause cervical cancer.

The cervical screening test has replaced the Pap test because it is better at helping prevent cervical cancer. You also need to be screened less often!

🌿 Supporting Our Communities with Compassionate Care 🌿

Did you know there are incredible opportunities across Northwestern Ontario to learn, connect, and grow in the area of palliative care?

Through the North West Regional Palliative Care Program, clinical coaches are working hand-in-hand with local Family Health Teams, hospitals, LTC homes, supportive housing, and even EMS to bring the palliative approach to care closer to home. From Nipigon to Manitouwadge and beyond, these efforts are creating stronger connections, better support, and more compassionate care for those living with life-limiting illness.

Whether you’re a health care provider, community partner, or someone who simply wants to learn more, there are resources, education, and networking opportunities available to help us all work together in delivering the care people deserve.

Together, we can make a difference—one community, one family, one person at a time.
