Today we had the opportunity to sit, chat, and reminisce with a few of our wonderful residents. Conversations flowed about family, cherished family recipes, and special memories, all while enjoying the beauty of the falling snow from the comfort and warmth of the residence.

It was a peaceful and meaningful time spent together — a reminder that the simplest moments are often the most special. 💙☕

☕ Historic Kitchen Gadgets ☕

Guess this antique gadget!

This gadget was a staple in many kitchens dating back to the 1800's.
Can you guess what it is? If you guessed it was a pepper mill, you were on the right track… but the correct answer is a coffee grinder!

Today, you can grind coffee beans at the touch of a button with an electric grinder — or simply buy them pre-ground. But a century ago, getting that same fresh coffee meant hand-cranking beans against a set of blades to finely mill them.

Today we were treated to wonderful live music performance by Martin! A few of our residents gathered to enjoy his beautiful playing — and his great sense of humor. 😊
Laughter, music, and smiles filled the room as Martin shared both his piano skills and his jokes. What a lovely way to spend the day!

🎶 What a wonderful day at The Tillsonburg Retirement Residence! 🎶

We had the pleasure of welcoming Jeff Dawdy, an amazing one-man band, to our residence. Jeff filled the room with music and played all of our residents’ favourite tunes, bringing back great memories and plenty of smiles.

🎉🎂 A Truly Remarkable Milestone! 🎂🎉

We are proud to celebrate an incredible moment at The Tillsonburg Retirement Residence as one of our cherished residents recently turned 100 years old! 🥳

In honor of this amazing milestone, Rev. Paul presented a special plaque from King Charles, recognizing a century of life and memories. As a proud veteran, he was also honoured at the local Legion, a meaningful tribute to his service and dedication. 🇨🇦❤️

We are also fortunate to be home to a few other members of our very special 100 Year Old Club — each with their own stories, history, and wisdom to share.

Happy 100th birthday, and thank you for inspiring us all. What a privilege it is to celebrate life’s milestones together!

Our amazing team at The Tillsonburg Retirement Residence threw a fun and festive New Year’s Eve party for our residents, and it was a wonderful way to welcome the year ahead!

With funny decorations, lots of laughter, and plenty of smiles to go around, the celebration was filled with joy and great memories. Seeing our residents laugh, connect, and enjoy the moment made the afternoon truly special.
