pitocin.
it’s used to speed up labour. why does labour need to be sped up?
it’s used to induce. why must labour be induced?
it’s used to slow post birth bleeding. where is the oxytocin boost meant to stimulate your uterus?

when it all comes down to it, it’s about trusting. the woman’s body is deep and sacred and it knows.

would the body grow and make a baby that is too large to birth?

will it push when it is the right time? or must it begin as soon as it is measured.

will milk fill the breasts too late? or shall we interfere as if the first drops of gold is not enough.

does a faithful organ have a time, when it checks its watch and says goodbye?

is the body wise when there’s only one? but once there’s two, it says “I’m done”?

would fuel be required when there is no need? serving instead a full platter of policy.

I refuse to believe that the body is not wise. that its design is accidental. that what it knows doesn’t matter.
