I’m Antosia, I’m a functional herbalist that takes a hormone centric approach to women’s health. The women I work with prefer holistic healing for their bodies over band-aid symptom treatments. This means healing with herbs, nutrient rich foods and lifestyle instead of birth control, anti-biotics and other drugs that simply manage your symptoms. I’m a woman like you, who took on the challenge of understanding her body, her skin and her mind and mastered healing with food and plants. If you’re ready for it, I’m happy to guide you to do the same. Because happiness and health, is your normal.

I love using supplements to support my Hashimoto’s clients! 🦋 But there are some supplements I see people recommending online that are *not* appropriate for those with Hashimoto’s—some can even be dangerous. ❌

Here are 5 supplements I don’t recommend for people with Hashimoto’s:

1. Iodine: While it was once used to treat Hashimoto’s, we now know better. Too much iodine can trigger or worsen Hashimoto’s by overstimulating your immune system and attacking your thyroid. Your thyroid is the only organ that uses iodine, so overdoing it can be detrimental.

2. Melissa (Lemon Balm): This is a very popular relaxation tea—you might even find it being served in restaurants or on grocery store aisles. But it’s also known to suppress thyroid function, which you definitely don’t want if your thyroid is already suppressed. If you have hypothyroidism, this can make things worse!

3. Echinacea: A go-to for cold and flu season, and it’s often found in herbal cough syrups as a remedy for colds. But it’s highly immune-stimulating, which is the last thing you want when your immune system is already attacking your thyroid.

4. Immune-Stimulating Mushrooms (Turkey Tail, Reishi): I love mushrooms! They’re fantastic for healthy individuals, but if your immune system is already overstimulated, the last thing you want is a mushroom that stimulates it even more. This can push your immune system over the edge and worsen Hashimoto’s symptoms.

5. Algae/Seaweed Supplements (including Irish Sea Moss): Irish sea moss is really trendy and popular right now because it’s so mineral-rich. But if you have Hashimoto’s, you want to be cautious with it—and any other algae or seaweed supplements—because they are loaded with iodine, which can trigger an immune attack on your thyroid. Be mindful when eating sushi, seaweed snacks, or taking algae-based supplements!

There’s other supplements that aren’t right for Hashimoto’s, these are just my top 5 most common ones. Have you ever tried any of these? How did they affect your Hashimoto’s?

🍫 Want my delicious chocolate cake banana bread recipe to help with Hashimoto’s inflammation while indulging a little bit?

Comment “chocolate” below and I’ll DM you the ooey gooey recipe.

I have made the recipe at least 5 times and it’s always a hit at my dinner parties.

This is like a soft chocolate cake that’s really a banana bread.

It’s nutrient rich and can support your immune system:

✅ Magnesium from the chocolate can support thyroid function and reduce inflammation in Hashimoto’s.

✅ Potassium from the bananas helps regulate fluid balance (and puffiness) and supports healthy adrenal function.

✅ Vitamin E from the almonds protects the thyroid from oxidative stress and supports immune balance.

Comment “chocolate” below and I’ll send the recipe to your DMs where you can store it till you’re ready to bake it!

Disclaimer: if you struggle with nuts or eggs this recipe is not for you ❤️

🚨 Feeling lost with your Hashimoto’s despite getting all the “right” lab tests? Let’s clear things up! 🚨

Relying on lab work alone to manage Hashimoto’s might not give you the full picture—and some common tests can even be misleading. 😳 If you’re not getting better, here are 4 tests that might be pointing you in the wrong direction:

1️⃣ TSH & T4 Only:
Most doctors only check your Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) and T4 levels. But this is mostly helpful to determine medication dosage, not necessarily in reversing the anti-body attacks on your thyroid gland. You need to also test T3, reverse T3, and antibodies (TPO and TG) to understand the whole picture. Focusing only on TSH and T4 means missing the bigger issue.

2️⃣ IgG Antibody Testing:
This test is often used to find food sensitivities but doesn’t actually reveal what foods are triggering your autoimmune response. What it really shows is that you have leaky gut, not necessarily food intolerances. Building your diet around these results could be misleading; healing your gut should be the priority.

3️⃣ Ferritin Levels Alone:
Low iron is often linked to Hashimoto’s fatigue, but ferritin alone doesn’t tell the full story. To properly assess your iron levels, you need to look at transferrin, iron saturation, and copper levels. Relying only on ferritin can lead to over-supplementing iron, when the real problem might be with iron absorption or copper imbalance.

4️⃣ Iodine Loading Tests:
Some practitioners still use this test to check if iodine deficiency is behind thyroid issues. But iodine deficiency is rare, and in people with Hashimoto’s, taking too much iodine can actually make the condition worse. Loading up on iodine is risky, so be cautious if this is suggested to you.

The truth is, not all lab work is created equal. To really get a handle on Hashimoto’s, you need a practitioner who understands the full complexity of your immune system, not just your thyroid levels.

Biggest Hashimotos mistake: IgG antibody testing.

I am not a fan of IgG antibody testing. It is not an indication of what foods are triggering your Hashimoto’s antibodies. It is a measurement of the foods that are leaking into your bloodstream because you have a leaky gut. It is also a list of the foods you most commonly eat. Do you really want to eliminate them all from your diet?

I actually got an IgG test done once. They told me I had to eliminate eggs and almonds, some of my favourite foods.

🚨Spoiler alert: I did it for 4 months and absolutely nothing happened! Lol.

My allergist warned me that the test was useless but I did it anyway because I was desperate!

If you’re looking for the fastest and most thorough approach to identifying food intolerances, it involves a practitioner like myself who is highly skilled at identifying food intolerances using thorough body reading and analysis. This is the best shortcut to eliminating your digestive problems for good!

🚨2nd Spoiler Alert: many practitioners are either too busy or not experienced enough to do this. Don’t hate me for telling the truth 🤷🏼‍♀️

🌟 As a woman, your liver health is a complete and utter game-changer 🌟

I have never seen transformations as profound as when a woman with a congested liver does a proper protocol to decongest it. It can remove the most stubborn hormonal problems like mood swings, acne, low thyroid hormone activity, PMS, PMDD, and more. There is nothing as epic as a woman who decongests her liver.

So, this is not only relevant for women’s health, it’s also extremely relevant for Hashimoto’s. There’s a reason why most people with Hashimoto’s are women: imbalanced hormones can seriously aggravate the disease and cause Hashimoto’s flare-ups. Your liver health plays a crucial role in this. Excess estrogen—whether high estrogen or low estrogen with even lower progesterone—stimulates antibodies to attack your thyroid gland, leading to thyroid deterioration, brain fog, fatigue, achy joints, and difficulty losing weight.

I love helping women with their livers because I love seeing transformations. This is why I got into this work. I’m all about transforming women’s lives. Using hormone tests to understand how women break down hormones through their liver and then tailoring a plan based on that test is what I do best. Helping women design a lifestyle that truly supports their liver and hormone balance is what drives me.

This is one of the most underrated root causes of Hashimoto’s, and it often gets missed by many practitioners. A lot of newer practitioners will really focus on gut health, but once the gut is healed, they don’t necessarily know where to look next when it comes to healing Hashimoto’s. You really need to take the big picture into consideration. It’s not just about diet, it’s not just about gut health, even though those are major problems when it comes to Hashimoto’s.

If you want to know the four steps I use to help women heal their Hashimoto’s, comment “Roadmap” below, and I’ll send you my free four-step roadmap right away.

My doctor told me my thyroid was fine because my TSH was below 5 😒 But she couldn't explain why I was napping 3 times per day, why I was constantly bloated and why I was forgetting what I was talking about halfway through a conversation!

And another thing - why did I have high levels of anti-bodies attacking my thyroid gland?

“Is that normal?” I asked her.

She was silent.

The truth is, she didn’t have a medication to prescribe me for high antibodies, so it was irrelevant to her.

She said: “Come back when your thyroid is in worse shape, then we can put you on thyroid hormones”

Ugh! One things for sure, I'm not the kind of person that sits around and waits for things to get worse. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So I became a Clinical Herbalist and I studied from leading thyroid scientists and I was able to heal my hypothyroid symptoms naturally! 🌿

And now, I've created a free Hashimoto’s Healing Roadmap 📍 that describes the 4 steps needed to lower antibodies.

Just comment “roadmap” below and I’ll send the roadmap to your DMs ASAP.

If you’re in a Hashimoto’s flare, all you can think about is how to get rid of the joint pain, the muscle pain, and the brain fog. Those symptoms dominate your mind, making it hard to focus on anything else. 🌿✨

I love using this turmeric latte to help ease the inflammation. Turmeric, an herb used since ancient times in Ayurvedic medicine, is renowned for its powerful anti-inflammatory properties. But here’s the secret: to unlock its full potential, you need black pepper. 🖤

Black pepper contains piperine, which makes turmeric up to 2,000% more absorbable. Without it, your body won’t be able to fully utilize the turmeric to fight inflammation. So don’t forget to add a little sprinkle of black pepper! 🌟

Here’s my favorite turmeric latte recipe, perfect for soothing inflammation and tackling Hashimoto’s symptoms:

🌿 Ingredients:
- 1 cup of your favorite milk (I prefer coconut milk because it’s easy to digest, and does not naturally contain inflammatory PUFAs)
- 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
- A pinch of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of lion’s mane powder (great for brain fog)
- Optional: A small amount of white willow bark (for extra pain relief)

🌀 Instructions:
1. Gently heat the milk on the stove, being careful not to let it boil.
2. Once warm, add in the turmeric, black pepper, lion’s mane powder, and white willow bark if using.
3. Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
4. Remove from heat and pour into your favorite mug.
5. Garnish with coconut shavings or rose petal powder.

***Please check all herb contraindications with your health care provider. This is not medical advice.

Enjoy this golden elixir and feel the warmth and healing spread through your body.

Incorporating this into your daily routine can help manage inflammation and support your overall well-being. Remember, small daily habits can make a big difference in managing autoimmune symptoms. 💛

My turmeric latte is a great short term aid but if you’re looking for a long-term solution, you’ll have to check out my free 10 step roadmap on how to heal Hashimoto’s and reverse your autoimmune symptoms. All you have to do is comment “roadmap” below and I’ll DM it to you. ☺️
