Today, as we celebrate the beauty and vastness of this land we call Canada, let us also take a sacred pause to remember the true stewards of this land — the Indigenous Peoples who have walked, honored, and protected it for millennia.
This day is not only about fireworks and flags — it’s a time to listen, to learn, and to acknowledge the stories that came long before 1867.
May we move forward with respect, reconciliation, and reverence — caring for this land as a living being, honouring its spirit, and uplifting the voices of those who have always known its song.
