Learning how to be a supportive birth partner is important as you get closer to the due date.

Simple things like reminding her to relax and breathe could make all the difference.

Paying attention to details like when you should be going to the hospital can prevent so many medical interventions from going too early.

Being a steady, calm and advocating presence can make the experience rewarding for both of you.

Remember, she won't remember the pain, but she will remember how supported she felt in her most vulnerable moments.

Sign up for prenatal classes together 🙂. Give yourselves the gift of knowledge.

To the women growing life…

To the mothers awake in the night feeding, rocking, and wondering if they’re doing it right…

To the ones whose bodies and hearts are transforming in ways no one fully prepares them for…

You are powerful.

Motherhood begins long before birth, and it asks so much of a woman — strength, softness, patience, and love that runs deeper than words.

Today we celebrate you.

Your body.
Your intuition.
Your becoming.

Happy International Women’s Day to the pregnant mothers and the new mamas in the tender early days. 🤍

And if you need support in this season, please remember — you were never meant to do it alone.

It's not about the gender reveal, valla kaapu or baby shower. It's not about the baby gear. It's not about anything but the raw transformation you will go through as a woman entering a new life stage.

Surround yourself with the right people and right support to make it through this intense period of your life.

Everyone wants the best for their babies. Realize that taking care of yourself is one of the best things you can do for your baby.

Do you know what to expect for birth?

Do you know what to expect in the first days after birth?

Have you decided how you will feed your baby?

Who is going to support you through this period?

These are the questions that matter.

It's better to be safe than sorry!

There is no safe amount of alcohol or ma*****na in pregnancy. Birth defects and learning disabilities are associated with use.

If you'd like to socialize with everyone else, find your favourite mocktail recipe 🥂.

For best outcomes, plan to reduce alcohol intake when planning for a pregnancy. 50 percent of pregnancies are unplanned, so consider that for your lifestyle.

We don't need to wait for research to understand that new dads may experience emotional or mental health challenges too.

Being new parents is not easy. It's a time when a positive support system is essential!

There's a lot of shame around perinatal mental health challenges. Sometimes, these feelings of anxiety and depression start in pregnancy.

What's important is to have non-judgemental support, and to know where to go if you need to chat.

Reach out to your doctor, a trusted friend, a family member, a therapist,or your local public health unit to talk to a nurse. It's important that you share what you're feeling rather than suffering alone.

If you have a new parent in your life, share this post and follow for more. It may just be the little act that starts a conversation.

There's a safe method to bottle feed called paced bottle feeding. If you need to use this method, learn about it as soon as you can!

Here's how you do it:
1. Keep your baby in a semi upright position.

2. Keep the bottle horizontal and the ni**le half full. Use a slow flow, wide ni**le to mimic the breast.

3. Tickle the baby's upper lip with the bottle to help them latch onto the ni**le.

3. Support your baby's head and neck and allow them to suck 3-5 times before giving them a break to breathe. Repeat until your baby shows signs of fullness.

This method allows the baby to stay on control and follow their satiation cues.

You can see how it's done here: https://youtu.be/xlrk5T0jWwQ?si=w2nPo0gB7usCn593

Remember, babies will not take the same amount at every feed, just like you don't eat exactly the same thing at every meal!
