Whether it’s the therapist who embodies that attachment figure, the boss that uplifts you, a mentor who offers you guidance and support that you didn’t receive, a romantic relationship where you feel finally feel secure, your chosen family that has your back, your peers that shares your lived experience, special interest buddies that get you, it’s remarkable how we can find missing experiences in other human beings as we continue to grow and age.

It requires vulnerability and accountability to show up this way, and to let people in 🩷- that’s your work solo travellers!

So excited for this offering~ the next iteration of the Creative Hearts Club~ exactly 3 weeks away! Please share as relevant 💕.

This workshop combines movement and creative expression to explore and express your inner emotional landscape. You can expect:

Guided bilateral drawing as a meditative and regulating practice for the nervous system

Movement to connect with the “felt sense” of emotions in the body

What is bilateral drawing: a guided art therapy process whereby we use both hands and the whole brain as a way to regulate the nervous system and access the “felt sense” of an emotion

What is body mapping: we create a drawing outline of our body and use mixed media (collage, colour) to explore and express our inner emotional world through the body

Whos it for:  This workshop is open to anyone seeking a creative and somatic way to explore emotions and states of being, reconnect with their inner selves, or simply try something new. No prior art or movement experience is needed.

Investment: $95.+tax all supplies provided including light refreshments

In my work, my worldview, the foundational piece is self acceptance.

Our acts of self kindness and honouring our needs are so important and part of this messy process.

Though, they can only go so far if we don’t allow for/ make room for all of our parts to show up.

Acknowledging all parts of us to be here now, understanding all parts of us, getting curious about our relationship to our parts, and maybe accepting ourselves in all our messy humanness is

If this brings stuff up for you or it’s hard to hear and confusing, let’s talk.

Simply, the story of the body.
We all have a body, we all have a story to tell. The body carries wisdom of our joy, our pain and what wants to happen next ✨.

If you follow me, you know that I post a lot about grief and loss… I have the honour of supporting a lot of parents through the process of building and growing their families.

And with that comes a disenfranchised grief – one that is not recognized by society and so parents are struggling and going at it alone.

Because no one tells us what we’re allowed to feel in grief and loss, let alone disenfranchised grief like this, I am sharing these permission slip. A lot of text I know. If it brings stuff up for you, I encourage you to reach out to get support.

Grief and loss can reactivate
childhood wounds 💗.

If we experienced childhood losses
(ie. unmet needs - from our caregivers
or environment), these needs can resurface when we experience a significant loss.

We are grieving the new loss and the losses of what we didn’t get when we were young.

Gentleness 💗.

A note to Healthcare Workers in Toronto

As psychotherapists and yoga teachers, formerly social workers in hospital/healthcare settings, Eva Still and I have faced our own challenges with stress, burnout, loss, and life changes. We understand how difficult it can be to take care of ourselves while supporting our clients.

During the global pandemic, when our healthcare system was under immense stress, we came together to offer spaces for fellow practitioners, mental health professionals, healthcare workers, and educators to process stress, burnout, grief, and loss. We continue to tailor our retreats and workshops to this peer group, especially as we continue to witness loss and upheaval in the world around us.

We invite those of you who need a day to take care of yourselves and focus on your own needs to join us at our upcoming retreat on Saturday, September 7th. The practical tools and techniques you will learn will not only help you navigate daily stress but will also provide you with additional practices to share with your clients, patients and community groups.

We will send you home with a package of resources to help you. More info here: https://lnkd.in/gn9hUHe6
Feel free to reach out for more information, questions or inquiries.
Take good care,
Sehr
