First, I want to sincerely thank every single person who reached out to inquire and those who invited me to join their journey this year. Words truly cannot express what that means to me. You trusted me with something deeply sacred—to care for one of your greatest treasures—and for that, I am profoundly grateful.

Doing this work while navigating my own postpartum journey made each moment even more meaningful. Experiencing life again from “the client” perspective gave me a renewed sense of empathy and allowed me to bring greater intentionality and grace into my work. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of deftness, advocacy, adaptability, and the importance of truly holding space.

Being back for just four months, I’m amazed by how many hours I was able to spend with these beautiful families. While it was difficult to turn away a few inquiries, I knew it was necessary to avoid overextending myself and to honor the advice I often give others—to rest.

I am so grateful to be back in this space. Even if my numbers weren’t huge, I’m excited and hopeful for a more active new year ahead. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!✨️

COLOSTRUM

🥳 When your client sends you a picture of the colostrum she just hand expressed 😍

This yellow liquid gold is the first milk mom produces for the first few days (1-5 days). It's packed with vital vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins which makes it extremely beneficial for the newborn.

A few benefits to colostrum are:

- Antibodies and white blood cells help build baby's immune system
- Helps strengthen overall body wellness and development (lung, brain, heart, eye health, etc).
- Can help prevent jaudince
- Increases the good bacteria in the digestive tract to promote good gut health
- Adds a laxative effect to help push out "meconium"

I know those first few feeding sessions, days and/or weeks can sometimes be troublesome, but the journey gets better with time!🫶🏾

Birth is such a beautiful and sacred moment 😍🫶🏾

Skin to skin contact the first few months, but, especially right after delivery, is so beneficial for both Mom and baby👩🏾‍🍼.

Some benefits to skin to skin contact:

- Regulates baby temperature
- Calms and relaxes mom and baby
- Regulates baby heart rate & reduces cortisol (stress) levels
- Strengthens bond between mom and baby
- Stimulates the release of hormones to support breastfeeding and mothering.
- Gives baby the time to practice latching

Have your first hour (Golden Hour) as uninterrupted as possible. Spend those 60 mins talking, cuddling and kissing your newborn. Welcome them to the world and embrace your new and reinvented journey as a Mother🧡
