As proud owner of Silver Lining Psychological Services, I and my team would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to each of you for the trust you place in our clinic. Choosing to begin or continue therapy is a meaningful and courageous step, and it is an honor for us to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and well-being.

The holiday season is often portrayed as a joyful and celebratory time, but for many, it can also bring feelings of sadness, loneliness, grief, stress, or emotional overwhelm. Changes in routine, memories of loss, family dynamics, and increased expectations can make this time of year especially challenging.

At our clinic, we recognize that emotional well-being doesn’t take a holiday. For this reason, we have chosen to keep the clinic open on Christmas Day to support those who may be experiencing holiday blues or finding this season difficult. Refugees face psychological challenges long before, during, and after their journey to safety.

🔹 Pre-Migration:
Violence, conflict, persecution, and loss leave deep emotional wounds.

🔹 Migration:
Dangerous travel, separation from family, and living in camps increase fear and trauma — especially for children.

🔹 Post-Migration:
New stressors like discrimination, poverty, language barriers, and uncertainty about legal status can worsen mental health.

💔 Refugee Children:
They are among the most vulnerable. Disrupted schooling, loss of caregivers, and trauma can impact their emotional and developmental growth for years.
