Speak With Joy is a psychotherapy service dedicated to providing effective intervention for children with Selective/Situational Mutism (SM) so that they can SPEAK WITH JOY in different social settings and live out their potentials! The intervention approach we use integrates play, drama therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, relationship-building, and close collaboration with (and training of the
staff of) the child's school and communities. The integrated approach has had great track record of success of helping children overcome SM within months.

Phei Phei Oon is a highly-skilled psychotherapist with more than 15 years of clinical experience with diverse population. Although she is competent in supporting clients with grief, anxiety and divorce-related issues, she chooses to focus on her speciality, Selective Mutism. The unique blend of her skills applied in her integrated approach has helped children overcome Selective Mutism within a short time. Phei Phei came with corporate managerial experience rendering her effective in liaising with community and school stakeholders to develop effective teams to implement school-based strategies, accelerating the children's progress in school. Phei Phei's track record included helping clients who have not spoken in schools to speak in the classroom (both physical and virtual) with loud voice within 1 month of the start of the school-based plan, all accomplished via virtual therapy. Phei Phei is highly creative and competent in designing effective fun activities that increases the success rate of the sliding-in sessions, in which new conversation partners start to speak to the children. Phei Phei is also highly effective in designing the next brave talking goals in line of the behavioural shaping strategies. Her vision is that children with anxiety in speaking will effectively climb the ladder of brave talking and eventually speak with joy in all settings, allowing their full self to bloom, be seen and celebrated!
