That feeling when something you’ve lived quietly is finally named and honoured out loud.

Representation heals

Side note, I got all the feels when Whitby got a shout out!

Stress isn’t a self control problem.
It’s your brain chasing relief.

Food works fast, dopamine delivers, and the loop repeats.

Awareness is where the pattern loosens and choice comes back.

Emotional eating isn’t a flaw. It’s a learned stress response.

Emotional eating isn’t bad. 💛
It only becomes a problem when it’s your only coping tool.

The sweet spot? Self-compassion + effective new tools.

Food and drink can absolutely be comforting.

The problem is, this solution is fleeting and it doesn’t get to the heart of the problem.

Follow along with me in the coming weeks where I uncover why this is not working for you and what you can do instead.

Food connects us:
🔹to celebration
🔹to culture
🔹to each other
It can comfort, nourish, and show love.

Emotional eating isn’t bad. It’s a tool.
It only becomes a problem when it’s your only tool.

It’s normal.
You’re human.
You’re not broken.

Emotional eating is not a character flaw. It is a coping pattern.

If you said “Yes” to even one of these questions, nothing has gone wrong. You are human.

Most of us were never taught how to sit with emotions, stress, boredom, overwhelm, or even joy. So we learned to cope with the most available tool we had. Food.

And honestly… it makes sense. Food is comforting. It is regulating. It is loyal.

It is one of the first ways we ever experienced safety.

But when food becomes the main way we soothe, numb, reward, or escape, it starts to cost us. Not in willpower, but in self trust.

Awareness is the first step. Not fixing. Not controlling. Not dieting. Just noticing.

Because once you can see the pattern, you can start to choose something different. With compassion, not criticism.

And that is where real change actually begins.

Stay with us in the coming weeks for more discussions about emotional eating.

Emotional eating is not a failure. It is information.

If you said yes to even one of these questions, you are not broken and you are definitely not alone.

Over the next few weeks, I will be talking about emotional eating and how to move past it in a kind, realistic way so you can finally make peace with food.

Hit follow to come along the journey with me.

Your body is NOT trying to sabotage you. It is trying to communicate with you.

It’s time to listen!

If weight loss feels harder than it should, it is not because you are failing.

It may be because your body is overwhelmed, underfuelled, and overtired.

Most people are not doing too little. They are doing too much for too long and expecting fast and constant results.

This is not a motivation problem. It is a physiology one.

This is your permission to:
🔸 Slow down
🔸 Nourish yourself
🔸 Rest
🔸Celebrate the small things

Your body is not trying to work against you. It is trying to communicate to you that it doesn’t like what you are doing.

➤ Share this with a friend who needs permission to rest. 🧡
