Lets talk Holiday Parties.
Its the middle of November, which means you may have already started attending some Holiday events. As December approaches and the parties are lined up, many of our clients want to hit the "pause" button on their health and fitness goals, and consider December a complete write off.
Because how can you sleep well, nourish your body with wholesome foods, and workout when you have 15 parties lined up?
Hold on.
Lets do the math.
There are approximately 50 days left in 2021. How many of those days are you actually at a Holiday Event?
Take the number of days you actually have a party or event to attend. Divide this number by 50 then multiply by 100.
This will give you the percent of time that you will be at a party for the remainder of the year. If you have 10 parties to attend, this means only 20% of the rest of the year will be spent on parties (and this is high, because parties don't last ALL DAY).
So really, you may be looking at 5% of the remainder of 2021 spent at parties.
How is this a write-off?
Let's go a little deeper into this reality check, and look at the amount of days remaining in 2021 that you are NOT attending a function. This will be high.
This is when you get real with yourself.
Is it nearly impossible to train, eat nourishing foods, and sleep well over the holidays???
Or is it simply an excuse to "eat and drink whatever you want" for several weeks.
Lets change the verbiage.
If you tend to say I'm going to completely let go and pause taking care of myself because it's the holidays, then jump back to the math. The holidays are only a couple of days in the grand scheme of things, and you truly have PLENTY of time to stay on track and work towards your health goals.
Don't write yourself off.
You got this.
And with the right support - you will be able to enjoy the holidays, all while continuing to keep your health a priority.
Have you considered the Holidays a "write-off" in the past?
